MEET THE PRESS: Michele Bachmann STILL Thinks Obama Is Running A 'Gangster Government'

The flip side of the GOP having zero serious candidates to run for office in 2012 is that they can pretend to be considering running for office and continue to go on TV and say insane things without actually having to worry about whether they will lose votes on the national scale.

Behold Michele Bachmann on Meet the Press this Sunday (Tim Russert must be rolling over in his grave) telling David Gregory that she is standing by her Obama is running a "gangster goverment" remark.

MR. GREGORY: You, you've referred to the Obama administration as a gangster government. You've said that this president has anti-American views. Do you believe that still?

REP. BACHMANN: I believe that the actions of this government have, have been emblematic of ones that have not been based on true American values. Just consider Obamacare. Over 900 waivers have been given out to unions and protected special interests that are linked to the president. That's not right.

She is not the only one. I'm convinced of it.

I agree with Bachmann. IMHO, anyone who disagrees with her should try to lay off the recreational drugs for a while and try to focus.

It seems crazy to tell the truth on national TV to some then, and stick by it.

He is running a gangster government, if his level of incompetence mixed in with the malevolence really requires the use of ‘running’.

Only gangsters would fail to recognize it as gangster government.

Michael Barone was the first to call Obama Administration
“gangster government” in his column about the GM bondholders getting
leaned on by the Obama Administration about not suing for
their rights...

called it gangster government. WAY back about 18 months ago.

I wouldn’t call Michael Barone an alan grayson type. or olbermann.

Michele Bachmann just adopted it for the tea party rallies and such.

In the topsy turvey world of America today, telling the truth is considered "insane", apparently.

Interesting. I’ll look for more on Michael Barone then.

Chicago. Even when there was that immense, highly publicized sweep of organized crime figures a few weeks ago, somehow none were from Chicago.

Bachmann’s being terribly unfair, to gangsters.

Capone & Gotti couldn’t hold a candle to this freak show.

Bertolt Brecht's play is about a Chicago gangster who rises to great power. The crime lord Arturo Ui is a metaphor for Hitler.
Gangster Government = Fascism.

Thanks for posting the Orwell quote. We have now come full circle, and it wont be long before the SHTF, in my most humble opinion. Prepare.

Recently some hotshot on Bloomberg said the markets love ‘totalatarianism’.
In doing research, seems Keynes IS on the side of statism.

“Guess where we would place Keynes on this scale of evaluation – servile scribbler or a thorn in the side of autocrats? It’s not even necessary to say it – after all, he said himself that his work is best suited to a totalitarian system (the passage in the German version of the foreword reads: ‘Die Theorie […] kann viel leichter den Verhältnissen eines totalen Staates angepasst werden, [...]’ – which literally translated means, ‘The theory […] can be better adapted to the conditions of the Total State, etc.’).

Unless one is pining for the ‘Total State’ one should perhaps consider forgoing the Keynesian recipes. Just saying. “-Pater

Let me rephrase the indictment. David Gregory is enabling gangster government with his slanted and biased interviews because it implements his policy positions. He should be without honor in the press because he has such a profound ignorance of the Constitution and the liberties afforded in its first ten amendments.
