Rodney King Pulled Over By Police -- Cited
TMZ ^ | 4 Mar

Rodney King had another clash with police this week -- the day before the 20 year anniversary of his infamous beating -- but this time, Rodney was only hit with a citation for driving without a license ... TMZ has learned.

Cops in Arcadia, CA received a complaint about a man driving recklessly in a green Mitsubishi Tuesday afternoon ... and when they located the vehicle, they saw King behind the wheel.

A spokesman for the Arcadia Police Department tells us King was pulled over when cops witnessed the car making an unsafe lane change -- and when they approached the vehicle, King admitted he had been driving with an expired license.

We're told King was cited for the license -- not the reckless driving -- and immediately called a friend to drive him home.

And absolutely nothing else happened.

Driver's license? I don't need no driver's license. I'm Ted Kennedy, err, um, ah, I'm Rodney, err, King.

The CA police are getting soft. Or has political correctness and a fear of another LA riot if they actually did their job and cited him for the more egregious of offenses?

I wonder what would have happened if King were high and out of control on PCP again. Would they have been afraid to tase him? I am guessing yes. Political correctness is going to be the death of this country. In fact, we are 80% of the way there.

I watched him on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" and I was really rooting for him. He seemed like a kind, decent person who genuinely wanted to put his alcoholic demons to rest and wasn't appearing on the show just to mug for the camera.

Hopefully for him this is just a minor setback.

Winning the lawsuit lottery isn't as easy as it used to be when they know your past record of success. Perhaps he'll sue anyway. Heck, he could probably still win something for this stop.
