MITROVICA, Kosovo -The gunman suspected of killing U.S. airmen outside Frankfurt airport is a German-born devout Muslim who works at the airport, according his uncle.
In an interview with The Associated Press in Kosovo, 70-year-old Rexhep Uka said the suspected gunman Arid Uka was born and raised in Germany after his parents moved there from Kosovo about 40 years ago.
The uncle says Arid is a pious Muslim whose grandfather was a religious leader at a mosque in the village of Zhabar, near Mitrovica, Kosovo.
Murat Uka, who identified himself as the alleged shooter's father, says the only thing he knew about his son was that he hadn't turned up at work on Wednesday.

Arid Uka?
Isn’t that a type of fungus that grows on grassy plants in dry climates?
Eric Holder will announce that we Cant Prosecute MY PEOPLE for this act after all there were a Lot More Slaves Killed 100 years ago
FOX lying again. A devout Muslim knows the true meaning of jihad is a personal struggle to overcome difficulties and find peace in your life.
The reality is if 10% of the 1 billion muslims are willing to take out as many infidels as possible they only need to take out 10 people each to make a huge dent in the world population of infidels.
If they target just Christians they can pretty much wipe out an entire religion.
Why yes it is. Don’t you forget that! /s
Imho, that's a problem. These are American soldiers killed by a Muslim terrorist in Germany...
I hear ya.
Germany's Spiegel says the suspect had a facebook page with heavy Islamist emphasis, with at least one Jihadic battle song linked on his pin wall, and listed himself as a fan of at least one Jihadic site.
Also, last August he filled in an online-survey about which weapon fit him best. He answered Barret M82. I'm not sure if the reason for the choice was a canned one by the website or not, but it was: You are the cautious type who takes care of the victims from a distance.
They say he climbed on the bus and started firing. There were no arguments on the bus as prviously claimed. German investigators are saying that witnesses claimed from the beginning that the shooter yelled "Allahu akhbar", describing it as an internationally recognized battle-cry used by islam inspired terrorists. That is a piece of evidence that the Germans are intensively pursuing.
Airport security was informed using the code words "Cafe Panorama has opened", which was planned in advance to be used for a terrorist attack.
Usually, from what I find, the German media lines up with the US MSM after the first day, so I view these initial reports as very important.
Those quakers at it again... /s
Good info...thanks
Cafe Panorama has Opened.
For the sake of accuracy, these military personnel were AIRMEN not soldiers, USAF Security Force members on their way to deployment in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Rest in peace, Defenders.
Condolences to families and friends of murdered U.S. airmen.
Well that’s a shocker.
Thanks for the correction.
I see that the MSM is still wondering whether to call this a terrorist attack.
In the Washington Post dated 3/4/11 section A page A8 to be exact, under “Digest” the headline reads: “Airport killings called possible terrorism”...the headline reads under the subtitle of “Germany”. Possible terrorism? Wow. The paper devotes the smallest possible space to this story, btw.
That’s how much respect and accuracy the Washington Post devotes to these Airmen and their families and friends, fellow military, the USA and their readership.
