Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee Calls Staffer 'You Stupid Mother-f*****'

A lot of politicians give nicknames to their aides. George W. Bush famously referred to his attorney general, Alberto Gonzalez, as “Fredo.” Mitch Daniels, then head of the Office of Management and Budget, was known as “The Blade.” Barack Obama reportedly called Larry Summers, his chief economic advisor, “Dr. Kevorkian.”

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas also hands out nicknames to the people who work for her. The Houston Democrat addressed one of her employees as “you stupid motherf**ker.” And not just once, but “constantly,” recalls the staffer, “like, all the time.”

Can you imagine if a Republican did this? There would be wall to wall coverage and demands of resignation. But since it’s a black woman media darling, they give her a pass. So sick of the double standard. Sorry, but abusive of her staff to me is far worse than the NY congressman sending shirtless pictures of himself to women on Craigs List. The staffer who undoubtedly needs the job can’t really fight back against it. A woman who doesn’t want a shirtless photo can shut down her e-mail to the fool. If he’s forced to resign for this, she should be forced to resign for mental and verbal abuse of another.
