I'm a big fan of Christie. He's the best thing to come along in NJ that I can remember. I hope he stays on here til he's term limited out......BUT..
I had begun to worry lately. Rock star status is a dangerous thing. It breeds hubris. It's like that ring in the Lord of the Rings movies. It's very hard to resist the temptations. You start to believe your own BS. You start to believe you truly are something special. And that, any Greek tragedian can tell you, is setting up the fall.
This type of story is an early confirmation that Mr. Christie is beginning to suffer from hubris. Sad.

Someone tell the big fat guy that bullying sells in NJ, not so much to the Norwegians in the midwest and the ladies and gentlemen in the South.

Trust me, hubris was part of his personality long ago. You don’t get to be US attorney in a big district without it, not in this day and age. May this age be ending.

The fact is, he could win the White House if he ran. The other fact is, he doesn’t measure up to the anattainable standards of people here at FR. They don’t want someone who could actually win. They just want to eliminate possible candidates based on unreasonable expectations. Get over trying to find the “true conservative”, none exists and if they did they couldn’t get enough electoral votes to be elected.

Yep. And he’s no asset for us outside of NJ, as he’s an Islamist/terrorist/illegal alien-coddling Northeast Republican.

That's what happened to the 'Bamster.

Yes. It hits many when they get on center stage, get some media attention, see their names in headlines, and see their images plastered on the TV news.
