STANTON – A man suspected of making more than 2,000 obscene calls during the past year to female dispatchers at several local law enforcement agencies was taken into custody Friday, Sheriff's Department officials said.

One sheriff's dispatcher received more than 1,000 calls, while another received more than 300, Amormino said.

Vasquez, who has been deported to Mexico on two occasions, is under an immigration hold.

I once worked on a collect call billing system. Throughout the system were references to “if inmate...” preventing prisoners from talking to operators.
