I wasn't able to watch the service. When I heard about this it broke my heart. 36 years of serving the public and answering calls in Los Angeles county says a lot about this man. Prayers up for his family and his fellow brothers. It's very hard on them to lose one of their own.

I could see the firefighters at the service struggling with their emotions. I think it takes a while to sink in too, and they will never forget their colleague.
It is especially poignant that Allen’s first grandson was born the day after he died. God.
