If Obama does not authorize the Navy to summarilly execute those dirty Muslim pirates, it will show the world he is a WEAKLING...and probably an Islamic sympathizer.

And here we have what could easily be construed as an act of war against the US and we are simply rolling over and snoring.. thanks to the present administration!

What is that great body of peace loving problem solvers known as the U.N. doing about this? How they can continue to occupy prime space in America is beyond me.

Isn’t it maritime law to just hang pirates where ever they are found?

Is there anyway we could donate a couple million to Blackwater and have them kill these cowards off?

I find it hard to believe the pirates murdered the hostages before the US attacked? My gut feeling tells me they were killed during the rescue attempt? Very sad indeed!

Just awful. These people apparently knew about the pirates. Turned off their electronics and tried to sneak by. I am some what surprised el heffemacdaddy even sent a Navy ship to the area to try to help them. I am surprised he even let the Navy kill any of the pirates.

They are martyrs.

I wonder what happened to the Bibles they were carrying.

Keel Haul them. A serious punishment when performed on a an aircraft carrier.

Seriously, as soon as it had been determined the hostages had been shot, every last one of the pirates should have suffered the same fate. The ghosts of Teddy Roosevelt and General "Black Jack" Pershing are rolling in their graves.

Our comments are more effort than this administration will put into justice.

My first instinct is why do we have any living pirates? Yes, decency and all that but how decent were they? They are not innocents.

The welfare of these thugs and murdering miscreants will cost us millions upon millions. Why? Why aren’t they just dead?

Two words on how the Navy should handle this in the future: “Rule 303.”

Four U.S. Navy warships made up a response force dedicated to recovering the S/V Quest: the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf, the guided-missile destroyers USS Sterett and USS Bulkeley.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! All those assets and the "negotiations" end with all four murdered?

This is what decades of liberalism brings you. We can’t even figure out how to take care of 4 Americans at sea held by a bunch of “boyz in the hood”. How pathetic we’ve become. Sorry. I’m just really angry over this travesty.

Why these murdering pirates are not fish food right now as we speak, I will never know!

Why spend more than the .22 cents per round of the tax payers hard earned money to blow their heads off, is beyond my understanding!

This would be a great time to start balancing the US budget, no more catch and release, instead, kill and dump into the sea. Case closed, justice upheld, and money saved all around!!!!!

They are holding 31 ships.
I’m amazed this is allowed to keep happening. The world could put an end to this if it wanted.

Piracy is an internationally recognized crime against humanity. It means every country on earth has jurisdiction, and can use deadly force in response.

Why we aren’t turning the mother ships into reefs is an open question.

All these comments are missing a few points:

!) What has Obama said so far about these events instead of his comments on Libya nad the loss of Muslim life there?
2) The US Navy is no longer a military unit. It has become: a policeman, an ambassador of good will, a joke if you view their latest advertisements. The new mission of the US Navy is to have good relationships around the world, not showing the flag and not protecting the interests of citizens as well as stopping harm to America in general. They have been put on a course of negotiation rather than protection.
3) With all our might as well as “spy” satellites, why can we not find where these pirates are coming from and at the same time trace which boats are on the water and intercept them with all means necessary or is the technology we think we have just a sham? Why should we even ask questions in this part of the world. If we can’t find and defend our own people, then we should put the Navy back into port and save the fuel!
4) Why are our 5th and 6th Fleets just sitting on the sidelines with the flaming of the Middle East going on now? Both seas are empty of an American fighting surface force and why? Who is there to protect our interests, oil, etc from these Islamists? More to follow but it will rest on deaf ears.
