Despite brutal weather, today could be the biggest yet for protesters in Madison, as most union workers across the state have a furlough day today for the holiday, and they are reportedly going to be bused in from all around Wisconsin. Bitter rainy weather drove the people and protests inside Sunday, where for a sixth straight day demonstrators packed the Capitol rotunda, talking up unions - and talking trash about new Governor Scott Walker, reports CBS News correspondent Cynthia Bowers. He says taxpayers can no longer afford protracted contract battles with the state's powerful state worker unions

In a democracy, you have to show up to negotiate...not hide out in another state...just sayin’
We don’t live in a Democracy, we are a Republic. How does one become an elected official without knowing basic civics?

So when does the Union Boss negotiate directly with the Governor?
And in a Republic, you don’t negotiate with a mob that’s trying to put a gun to your head. You also don’t overturn the results of an election to cave in to a bunch of freeloading thugs.

WE are a REPUBLIC...we vote for representatives of the PEOPLE.
When are people going to wake up.
The WI Gov. and Leg were elected to represent the people not some corporatist evil system.
Now is such a time. The Democrats lost.
I like the part where the employees have to vote for representation each year. That won't hurt unions at all but it will harm corrupt union bosses. They'll have to go find jobs or return to robbing old ladies.

This is rich! Coming from the people who ran out the door rather than “negotiate.”
They should have stayed around and tried to “negotiate” when discussing the bill. But they know they don’t have a leg to stand on and force and trickery are their only hope.
Hasn’t just about everything 0 has done been without negotiations?
Republicans can set in the back of the bus comes to mind.
