In a recent interview with Catholic Online, Justin Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, said that she “brought Justin up in the faith” and that her son attended a Catholic school.

The youth "get it".

Erik Whittington of the pro-life organization Rock for Life said Bieber’s remarks are “Great news” since he “has huge influence on young people.” At the same time he questioned Bieber’s hedging on the question of rape. “Justin, I thought you said, ‘It’s like killing a baby?’ If it is, which it is that what is the problem? Why the hesitation? How come it’s OK to judge other situations but not this one?

Ummmm ... maybe it's because this Bieber fellow is an immature, spoiled 17 year old pop-star, and hasn't thought the matter over thoroughly? Beating on him verbally isn't going to help guide him in the right direction.

Considering his audience, it’s very good he’s said this publicly, regardless of what anyone who’s not an early- or pre-teen girl thinks.

Shut up! He said it's like killing a baby...Period. Now some liberal hack uses their age old “But what about rape?” question and he defers to individual judgment. So then the “ultra right wing” says “Hey all your answers are not perfect”! I tell you the Right hasn't a f@ck!n clue when it is turning a tide. Go ahead attack the most influential person on teenage girls today. Good plan.

My kid lives with his feminist-pagan mom and says to me: “The Republicans want women to have children - even if they were raped!”

I say: “How about the baby? Rape is terrible, but why kill an innocent baby? Does the baby get a say?”

He says: “Republicans are for rape!”

I say: “Well, you know, there are ‘children of rape’ in the world. Would you like to go to each of them and tell them they should have been killed?”

He just freezes, and stands there staring into space in a full brain-lock. Let's meet all the other objections first - then when ALL THEY HAVE LEFT is the "rape objection" - we'll mop the floor with them.

I'm guessing that most Freepers (including this one) wouldn't normally care about Justin Bieber's opinions on anything but in this case I applaud him for taking a rational stand against abortion that may not play too well with the Hollywood crowd but will likely have a positive influence on his vast teen audience. That's a good thing, people. Don't nitpick it to death. He's not a politician running for office so I don't care if he isn't 'perfect' on abortion, his comment "it's like killing a baby", although almost comically stating the obvious, (he's not quite 17 so cut him some slack) is welcomed, knowing the very audience that sees/reads it is the one that we're most concerned about. Our kids.

Never, EVER, thought I’d write these words, but...

I am now a Justin Bieber fan. (That doesn’t mean I actually have to listen to any of his music, does it???)

Good for him, for taking a strong stand on life! And to those criticizing him, the young boy took a stronger stand for life than many of the speakers at CPAC and he didn’t flip flop just in time to run as a “conservative” for the GOP nomination, like Mitt and Trump.

‘The studio has been screening the movie (Never Say Never) for many Christian faith leaders in hopes that the film will attract a religious audience, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bieber is quite vocal about his faith during interview, and you can see it as well throughout the film. Many times, Bieber is seen praying before a concert or talking about God as his inspiration.’

I don’t care for his type of music, but I’m inclined to cut this boy a little slack.
How often do you see this boy’s type of behavior among the scum in the rap, hiphop rock music industry?
Maybe he could have some positive influence on young people.

Many more young people are shaking off the shackles of leftist death culture. This young man will undoubtedly influence others. Very good news.

“Pattie Mallette, said that she “brought Justin up in the faith” and that her son attended a Catholic school. Mallette, a former Catholic, identifies as a non-denominational Christian.”

This is what I am - a protestant that used to be Catholic, and became nondenominational.

I am not slamming Catholics to say this, but these are usually people of strong faith- simply because if you go through the effort of changing, you feel more strongly about it such things. People who have casual faith don’t care enough to change.

My guess is his mom is a strong Christian. This young man, if he continues on this path, may be a very strong force for life and Christianity. He certainly has a lot of influence on young folk. It’s refreshing.

In January during the feast of the holy innocents, my three year old was discussing king herod’s slaughter of baby boys (It was in one of her baby bibles). Anyway, she said “we should never kill babies. They’re cute. Why would anybody kill a baby”. Three years old, yet smarter than half the US population.

Teach your kids this answer to the “what about rape” question:

If one person does something bad to another person, should a third person be killed for it?

Well, it IS killing a baby.

But this is a good start. He’s thinking it through at least.
