I think all he hits are home runs. I hope people realize the whole “my wife would kill me” thing is a device. I had an old mentor used that trick all the time. It’s not so much a way to get off the hook as it is a way to build empathy and rapport. It shows you are a regular guy with regular problems. At least, I take it as a device.
