Somewhere in America Alone, I cite an example of the logical reductio of socialized health care: “the ten-month wait for the maternity ward.” I’ve been adding to the file ever since. Here’s the latest entry, from Hamilton, Ontario:
Hamilton’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) was full when Ava Isabella Stinson was born 14 weeks premature at St. Joseph’s Hospital Thursday at 12:24 p.m.
A provincewide search for an open NICU bed came up empty, leaving no choice but to send the two-pound, four-ounce preemie to Buffalo that evening.
Once Buffalo enjoys the benefits of Hamilton-level health care, I wonder where Ontario will be shipping the preemies to. Costa Rica?

As an ex-Canadian from British Columbia, and originally from Sask., his stupidity is astounding.
BC Health just takes it from your bank account OR you have the option to pay them by check, if you do NOT want the provincial govt to intrude your bank acct. I chose the latter back then. It still happens now to a lot of people I know back in Vancouver.

Nah! I see him/her/it in a more passive role,i.e. carried across the White House threshold, baking cookies, leading a nutrition summit, breathless media announcements, from time to time, hinting that he/she/it maybe pregnant. The perverted possibilities are endless in America 2011 A.D.

My 9 & 8 Year old Goddaughters are in love with him. I must be getting old. He’ll probably end up down the road of all the other teen idols once they hit that age. Drugs etc.
