Let me know if you want on or off the list.

This is all well and good; however, Haley spent part of his career (albeit a small amount)working for Mexico to influence the US goobermint to grant amnesty to the unwashed, uneducated criminals that crawled into our already endangered nation.

GTOH Haley!

All the Indian tribes are getting their own vanity license plates these days. Since they once fought against the US Army, and since they to this day discriminate based on race, tribe AND clan, should those also be excoriated as politically incorrect?

This whole thing seems like a media/NAACP stunt to produce the desired headline - “Barbour Won’t Denounce Confederate License Plate”. What else won’t he denounce? Cigarettes? Cancer? Bedbugs? What a heartless guy!

The idea of a plate honoring N.B. Forrest seems like a provocation in its own right, though.

I like Haley, after all he is Governor of the great State of Mississippi; but, he is a longtime establishment GOP’er with larger ambitions. So, don’t you just know he hates to deal with issues of this nature?

This is the kind of news the MSM is really interested in.

Useless fluff, & meaninglessly provocative.

Some people either refuse or just don’t get the understanding that the Confederate States of America was a nation and that pride comes from having ancestors who died in the War of Aggression. That flag belonged to an age and a people who flew it PROUDLY...and some of us still find pride in the knowledge it flew over our nation. True, we have been conquered by the forces of the United States of America and are no longer a sovereign nation but that does not change history. We were once a country...just like Ireland...and we still resent insulting our heritage and our symbols....just like the Irish feel toward England. I am proud of Barbour for not bowing his head to another example of political correctness.

The Rebel flag is a battle flag and had nothing to do with slavery. People are just using this flag to keep discrimination subjects alive. It should be brought up the fact that this is stupid. If the flag was the Southern States flag, it would make sense, but the rebel battle flag is a part of our history.

"I find it curious that the governor won't come out and clearly denounce the efforts of the Sons of Confederate Veterans to honor Nathan Bedford Forrest," (MS NAACP head Derrick) Johnson said. "As the head of the state, he shouldn't tap dance around the question."

"I know there's not a chance it'll become law," Barbour said.

Is Barbour's comment a "tap dance" or is Mr. Johnson just an a'hole who could never be satisfied with anything that comes from a Republican's mouth?

Don't know what he's done as governor but given what he did as party chair, Barbour should *not* be the GOP nominee in 2012.

Ain’t nuthing wrong with the Confederate Flag, N.B. Forrest or the Confederacy! Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I do know Forrest was an organizer of the KKK that started out to be quiet benign. It was when it took a real wrong turn into a racist, abhorrent organization that Forrest got out. :)

Heck, with Barbour being a big lobbyist for the Mexicans, I’m surprised he doesn’t sport a Mexican license plate, or at least their flag.
