Sarah, say it ain't so …
World Net Daily ^ | February 12, 2011 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 02/12/2011 10:43:24 AM PST by Ol' Sparky

Until very recently, I was a big Sarah Palin supporter.

I don't mean she was my first or second choice to be president.

But I really liked the gal.

I thought she was a straight shooter.

I liked her style.

I didn't think she pulled any punches.

While sometimes lacking crystal clarity on the issues, she had the right instincts, I thought.

But now I wonder.

What prompted this change of heart?

Some recent comments suggest she really doesn't comprehend how close we are to losing the culture war for the hearts and minds of Americans, particularly on the issue of how radical homosexual activism threatens the very fabric of our society.

“a controversy that has torn the movement apart and resulted in the expedited departure of CPAC officials responsible for that ill-advised decision”

It was the same last year. But somehow this year it has reached people.

Let's ignoring the fact that Palin isn't as principled a candidate as Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain of Jim DeMint and HAS LESS OF A CHANCE OF WINNING.

She is not Reagan on 1980. Reagan never had the astronomical negative poll numbers she has.

I want the most conservative possible with the best chance of winning. The truth is that there are better candidates than Palin and she would do conservatives a favor by not running.

'm having trouble viewing Sarah Palin the way I did when we first met her in 2008 – when she came very close to tempting me to vote for a running mate I knew was unworthy of the presidency.

UGH,, so this is posted by an Obama voter or someone who sat it out? He liked her in 08 but couldn't bring himself to actually vote for her? Thanks for nothing

1) I like Sarah.
2) I don't like the big tent, and I'm not really big on "inclusion".
3) Sarah seems to be willing to engage in discussion with diverse groups. That's not necessarily bad. Leaders have to do that.
4) If Sarah makes a habit of actively working to promote the homosexual agenda, I will sit up and take notice, but so far, I don't think I see that.

Yes, I'm cutting her some slack here. I will never find a perfect candidate. I insist on someone who is pro-life, anti-big government, and not an establishment figure or an insider. Sarah fits the bill. There are secondary characteristics that also interest me, and Sarah fits most of those too. I certainly haven't found anyone better.

Joe Farah is right. GOProud's number one issue is legalizing gay marriage. How can that be called conservative?

They are NOT a conservative organization and should not be at CPAC.

I wonder if leftist conventions allow conservative organizations to take part? No? Well, golly! Why not?

Some people who call themselves conservative are absolute morons and don't know what the word "conservative" means.

Agreed! One hit piece after another, dwelling on relative minor issues, PROVES that she is on the right track.

The left and the RINOS are terrified of someone like her.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but, there aren’t any better candidates out there than Sarah. Michelle Bachmann has her negatives too, as they all do. What some of you want is perfection, and that just doesn’t exist. None of us are perfect, yet demand it from others. Take the beam out of your own eye.

... when she came very close to tempting me to vote for a running mate I knew was unworthy of the presidency.

LOL! The other guy was a community organizer from Chi Town. I sense a little envy and the feeling of being on the D List.

Sarah's mentor is a science teacher/dad! Her "business partner" is a winning competitor in a challenging environment, as well as the guy that helps pull in the nets. I can see a promising future for America... America needs her and her family in the White House to bring back some honor and faith! Just my opinion, dontcha know!

I agree. Farah is sometimes interesting, but I quite seriously think he's "not all there". Some of what he writes is seriously weird.

Lord knows, I would never, ever vote for him.

READ between the lines. READ what Governor Palin really said:

"I don't have a problem with GOProud speaking at CPAC."

You're not a brilliant tactician are you?

Sarah Palin is LINKING GOProud to the rest of the other candidates. Sarah Palin is HASTENING CPAC's demise.

Did Palin speak at CPAC? Was she there? Has she ever made a statement explicitly endorsing GOProud or the homosexual agenda?

No, she didn't!

All you clowns poo-poohing Sarah, jerking your knees, and being concern trolls are TOTALLY MISSING the brilliance of Palin's statement.

Let me translate again her statement:

"I don't give a rat's ass if a homosexual group disguised as a small-l conservative front group speak at CPAC. I ain't there, and they don't speak for me."

I don’t think Sarah is who people think she is. She hasn’t made a strong stance on the border and the illegals. I also don’t think she can win.

If she did win it would be political harangue, (if that is the right word, or the ‘left’ word) in the papers from day one. Admittedly any GOP candidate will face the same, but not as strongly as Sarah.

Joe Farah is right.

Farah's argument is not germane to Sarah's point.

Of course we know that GOProud is nothing but yet another liberal front group trying to split the conservative base (in fact, they are a direct off-shoot of the Log Cabin Republicans) and weakening social conservatism.

But that's not Sarah's point.

The issue here is CPAC. CPAC is well on its way of becoming an irrelevant organization. It is nothing but a cattle call for Republicans to grovel for attention and jockey for position. By linking GOProud to CPAC, Sarah is just hastening the organization's demise.

She hasn’t made a strong stance on the border and the illegals.

She has made plenty of pro-border statements and was virtually the only Republican who defended Gov Jan Brewer.

What the Hell are you people smoking?
