Soon RGGI will expand to every state and stick you with astronomical energy prices. RGGI is the model for two new stealth cap & tax entities. The Midwestern Greenhouse Gas Reduction Accord would bring the tax scheme to Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Kansas. The Western Climate Initiative will force California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Montana to start paying through the nose for energy. Both programs are set to start in 2012.

The corruptocrats in Washington are completely responsible for this gigantic waste of tax dollars. Everyday Americans work hard to earn money only to have it snatched away by the government! Enough is enough. We must stop the expansion of RGGI and other climate tax organizations!

Last month, a massive theft of EU carbon allowances (EUAs) sent shock waves through the European carbon market. A total of two million permits worth about €30 million Euros have been plundered. The EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) is worth €118 billion Euros ($161 billion U.S. dollars).

It’s simple, punishing companies with enormous taxes in the name of the environment inhibits growth. If corporations weren’t levied with crushing taxes and fines from the green energy crowd, there wouldn’t have been any permit thefts in the first place.

Stealing Carbon credits is a victimless crime. :-)

We should all work to steal carbon credits and not feel bad about it at all. How do we do it?

Seriously, the people pushing the wacky CC scam should all be locked away. Start with Al Gore and Georgie Porgy Soros.

I think it would be very helpful and constructive if this message INCLUDED THE NAMES OF THE POLITICIANS RESPONSIBLE for this rip off. In each state. Before the rip off achieves lift off. Name names. Assign blame. Give people a chance to get rid of them.

I’m sure this is entirely federal / executive. There is no way that this would pass even a Democrat congress.

Some more information. This "accord" was signed in 2007 by the Midwest Governors Association.. The chairman of the Midwest Governors Association at the time was Jim Doyle of Wisconsin (D). He is not running for re-election, so when this takes effect, he won't be there to be held accountable.

People ought to be getting ready to sue because this is clearly taxation without representation.

Also, when this was signed, Tim Pawlenty (R) was governor of Minnesota, Rod Blagojevich (D) was governor of Illinois, Chet Culver (D) was governor of Iowa, Jennifer Granholm (D) was governor of Michigan, Kathleen Sibelius (D) was governor of Kansas. Note the lack of accountability, since none of these people will be in office in 2012 when the "accord" goes into effect.

It is not a federal program. It is a program instituted by the Midwest Governors Association. It didn’t pass a Democratic Congress. And as near as I can tell, it didn’t pass any of the pertinent state legislatures.
