ANALYSIS: Tim Goodman Asks, Did Keith Olbermann Just Make a Huge Mistake?
The Hollywood Reporter ^ | 2/8/2011 | Tim Goodman

Keith Olbermann knows a lot about history. And media. And comebacks. So no doubt he’s familiar with the last time a big name anchor had an acrimonious fall out with his employer, only to turn up on a tiny cable channel, preaching the joys of freedom to do whatever he wanted.

our editor recommends How Keith Olbermann Landed at Current TVRelated Topics •Keith OlbermannThat man was Dan Rather. And he’s at HDNet.

If your first reaction to that was, “Dan Rather’s still alive?” Or, “HDWhat?,” then, well, Olbermann might have some issues ahead of him as he goes over to Current TV, aka Al Gore’s Channel That Nobody Watches.

Is Current TV really that obscure? Not exactly. But it’s not as different as you might suspect. Olbermann may be going to a cable channel that is in 60 million homes, but roughly 59,975,00 of those homes don’t know they have Current. And that’s a problem.

I have it somewhere in my Direct TV package. Don't know where, don't care either.

Comparing Olbermann to Rather is nuts. I've never seen Olbermann, except maybe on a football game telecast. I've never seen his show on MSNBC, not even a minute. I probably wouldn't even recognize the name Keith Olbermann were it not for the silly people on our side who seem to like to ridicule him.

Dan Rather was one of the most watched, respected, men in America; until he revealed himself for what he is.

but isn’t that the end result we are all looking for, for Queef Ogreman to become even more irrelevant? Chances are Queef will be found in the same position as David Carradine.

CurrentTV, now seen in at least 18,000 homes nightly.
I get more hits than that selling a tractor on Craigslist!

I am most distracted watching Rather in his recent appearances by Dan’s false teeth clicking as he speaks. He needs a better fitting set...he should sue his dentist.

There was an article posted yesterday stating that “Current TVs” prime time viewership was 18,000.

Olberman will boost that with his tens of loyal followers.

The fact that you don’t know who Olbermann is doesn’t make the people who don’t like him “silly”, it just exposes your ignorance of current events.

Is Olbermann getting a salary for his new gig, or is he paying Algore to be on the air? None of the dozens of stories about Olbie’s new home mention a paycheck.

Thanks.

Coming on the heals of the bozo who thinks I said I didn't know who Olbermann is, that was nice.

Seems that Ozzy was more likely addressing the bit where you ridicule the ‘silly people who seem to like to ridicule’ olbermann. Just a hunch.

The English language is a wonderful thing. If someone wants to express this idea, they can use words similar to the ones you just used. The Peabrain in question suggested that I don't know who Olbermann is. I think he's the same guy Levin refers to as "Overbite." Am I right?

I have posted here many times that the only time I ever see Oberman’s name (as well as that other punk Ed Krause(?) for that matter) is in thread titles here at Free Republic. That assclown has more people here who apparently care what he says and does than his 35 regular TV viewers do. In fact, it makes me a little bit sick to even bump the thread again with this post.

FRegards,
LH

Good grief. I think he had more viewers when he was doing local sports here in L.A.
