Did he just kind of declare martial law? Or did I misunderstand.

Yes, that's what it sounds like to me as well--he's taking various steps to clean up the govt., but NOT stepping down--I'm also watching on
Al-Jazeera English live, the crowd seems to be listening, but not really reacting at the moment..."Egypt is braving through hard times..."

I have the utmost contempt for our “Feckless Leader” Barack Hussein (”the Muslim”) Obama. Hi is a socialist agitator if there ever was one and doesn’t know he is playing with fire in the Middle East.
Whatif Egypt falls?? What’s next Jordan?? Syria??
What a dumbsh!t...

I hope this speech sounds better in Egyptian or whatever they speak over there.
The English translation makes him sound simultaneously lame and phony.

The crowd members are waving their shoes at Mubarak. Civil war is coming to Egypt, I’m afraid.

Aljazeera already declared Suleiman is “CIA’s man in Egypt,” so the crowd would not find him acceptable either.

"Civil war is coming to Egypt, Im afraid." It's been coming. Lots of international players have been spreading the gas for weeks now. It's just a matter of somebody tossing a lit cigarette. Good thing Obama quit smoking a year ago. < /sarc>

The whole thing is confusing.
Military says they took over.
Mubarak says he’s staying.
Total confusion.
