The difference between Obama and Jimmy Carter is that in 1978 we did not have the internet to immediately expose Jimmy for the dumb things he was doing in Iran.
Obama got slapped down immediately when he started making noises about supporting a radical Islamic takeover of Egypt.
It is good to see that even Democrat loyalists are saying that Obama is pretty dumb.
Feinstein is a Liberal Interventionist and she is important because of her committee chairmanship.
There are 3 foreign policy groups in the democratic party. Realists, Liberal Interventionists, and Pacifists. Obama, like all democratic president will have a foreign policy team composed of Realists and Liberal Interventionists and the dem prez will usually have a Liberal Interventionist as Sec of State(Clinton), a Realist as NSA(Jones and Donnelly), and a Realist as SecDef(Gates).
OTOH, There are three foreign policy groups in the Republican party. Realists, NeoCons, and Isolationists. A republican prez will have a foreign policy team of Realists and NeoCons with, usually, Realists serving as Sec of State and NSA while a NeoCon serves as SecDef.
So the Liberal Interventionists in the dem party are sometimes called national security democrats, somtimes leftwing hawks, sometimes leftwing NeoCons.
ObamaCons are an alliance between Liberal Interventionists and NeoCons who are strident supporters Counter-Insurgency.
