Kill Bin Laden 'plot' rumbled ("Report" from Al-Queda supporter - unconfirmed)

EXCLUSIVE

Kill Bin Laden 'plot' rumbled

TERROR leader Osama bin Laden has escaped a US plot to bomb him in his hideout, it was claimed yesterday.

Supporter Abu al-Fatah claimed the al-Qaeda chief had foiled a US mission to track him in his lair.

He claimed a computer memory stick containing interview questions sent to Bin Laden contained a tiny tracking beacon.

Its signals would have helped America target his location with an accurate unmanned drone attack.

Al-Fatah says the chip was discovered when Bin Laden's security scanned the USB stick. He said: "The US forces used a device that could transmit signals to a satellite for conducting an air strike on Bin Laden. They discovered a 5mm chip in a USB device meant to reach our leader for an interview."

Bin Laden's hideout is thought to be in the mountain border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. President Barack Obama has sanctioned drone attacks against al-Qaeda and Taliban targets in the region.

A European security figure said: "If the report is right someone got quite close to him."

The Jawa Report Claim Al Qaeda Foils CIA bin Laden Assassination Attempt

Claim: Al Qaeda Foils CIA bin Laden Assassination Attempt

What is al Qaeda's super-sekrit counterespionage weapon? Tin foil hats:

An alleged assassination attempt on Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was thwarted a month ago, an operative of the shadowy organisation claimed.....

“The US forces used a device that could transmit signals to satellite for conducting an air strike on bin Laden. The Al Qaeda leadership is proud of its technical wing that discovered a 5mm chip fixed in a USB device meant to reach our leader for an interview,” Abu Al-Fatah, an Al Qaeda operative, said.

Color me skeptical about the claim if not the device. And as long as al Qaeda is making claims that cannot be substantiated, why not claim they've thwarted the CIA's plot to psychically anal probe Osama bin Laden?

Attempt to assassinate bin Laden thwarted: Qaeda
An alleged assassination attempt on Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was thwarted a month ago, an operative of the shadowy organisation claimed. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has fixed a head money of $25mn on bin Laden and American forces are searching for him and Taliban supreme leader Mullah Omar for the past nine years.

I don’t give the report much credence. If such a method had been used the beacon wouldn’t have gone active until the USB drive was activated. An active beacon is just too easy to detect.

BS flag at full mast on this one. If they found it they would have placed it where a attack would have embarrassed the attackers....

All about propaganda with these turdburglers....

“Color me skeptical about the claim if not the device.”

They put GPS tracking devices in laptops to track them down if stolen, so what’s implausible about the device cited?
Stuxnet allegedly was spread via USB drive, so why not use such a device as a remote tracking delivery system?

It’s a bit astonishing Al Qaeda would even admit the successful delivery of a USB drive. That would signal the U.S. is a lot closer to finding OBL than he’s “hidden in a cave SOMEWHERE in Pakistan.” So if this is just propaganda, why put out a story that makes it appear the leader of Al Qaeda is that vulnerable?

I don’t believe BO would approve this.
I believe that BO would authorize a deactivated CIA USB stick transmitter to be sent to Al-Queda with instructions on how to best parade it for the media.  Al-Queda hasn't been in the news a lot lately, and I'm sure BO would want to do his utmost to keep his muslim brothers' spirits high.  Gotta have an occasional media splash to keep the recruitment levels up.

Why is it assumed Bin laden is still alive? No one has seen him in public for many years.

awww you didn’t do anything wrong! I was unclear in not expressing my own perspectives other than surrounding ‘report’ with “” quotes in the title and saying it was unconfirmed.

Thank you for your kind words and best wishes to you and yours :-)
