Why can’t her posse get their act together? She needs some new pros to help shape a new image for her, to gain bona fides where she is considered lacking.
In what way did they fail here?
I don’t see how her staff can avoid these dishonest news stories that come out every day about her.
This one is designed to hurt her credibility with the evangelical vote now that Huckabee isn’t running. They are trying everything they can in the most devious ways to destroy her, and she remains strong.
The problem is with weak minded people who fall for everything they read in the media.
There is a co-ordinated and nonstop campaign to make her look bad because they know she can win it all and it scares the crap out of them.
The first order of business is to check for actual quotes from Governor Palin or her spokespeople, otherwise I consider anything I read in the media about her as probably false, as this bogus story obviously is.
I have to agree. This was a huge opportunity for her. I also remember some months back it was rumored that she was going to meet Margret Thatcher but never heard anymore about it.
imo, she needs to get into this area soon. Since every unauthorized idiot is going in some quasi official capacity, she needs to counter those people and start adding to her own, already stellar credentials.
Careful there, you’re letting yourselves be fooled. Most information about Palin coming from mainstream media is false.
If there is no quote from Palin herself, just throw it in the garbage.
It is unfortunate that America has now become a nation that elects Presidents based on false "image" rather than what is truly there.
Do we really want a President that is helpless without a "posse getting their act together" to tell him or her what to do and where to go in order to manufacture an "image"? Do we really want another President whose false image "some new pros helped to shape"?
Or do we want the real thing?
Ronald Reagan was the real thing.
Ronald Reagan did not establish his foreign policy bona fides by taking trips and being seen. Ronald Reagan did not have to be "handled" and told where to go and what to say to establish his own bona fides.
Ronald Reagan established his foreign policy bona fides as follows:
Ronal Reagan was the real deal ..... Not an "image".
It took days for Sarah Palin to issue any comment on the Egyptian Crisis.
Prior to that, she could only come up with a joke....... her own version of the "answering machine"
January 31, 2011 ... Palin Jokes About Being Blamed for Egypt Violence
Sarah Palin comes across as somebody that needs to be spoon-fed the CliffsNotes of the latest foreign policy crisis for a week before she can say something as basic as warning that we need to be careful about the possibility of an Islamist takeover.
That is not surprising for an individual who apparently had never studied the historical fallout of the Yalta Conference or, to take it from the pages of History to the pages of the daily news, had never studied the situation in the ongoing Iraq War.
If Sarah Palin had any "bona fides" to establish, she would be spending her time writing her own foreign policy speeches, as Ronald Reagan did from 1975 to 1979, instead of making reality TV farce with Kate Gosselin.
The term "bona fides" signifies "good faith" in Latin. Ronald Reagan established his bona fides in foreign policy because he demonstrated, in more than 1,000 speeches that he wrote himself, that he knew the subject of foreign policy in depth.
It is impossible for Sarah Palin, in "good faith", to establish an in depth knowledge of the foreign policy issues that she never cared about right up until she was picked by McCain to be the VP candidate.
Would the average FReeper have been able to immediately rattle off to Katie Couric, SPECIFICALLY, as requested by Couric, a dozen publications that we regularly read and dissect on Free Republic?
You betcha.
But Sarah Palin could not name a single one.
Would the average FReeper, in 2008, have been able to give a detailed discussion of the different insurgents and militias that U.S. troops were battling against in Iraq?
You betcha.
Yet, Sarah Palin, when "asked to identify the enemy that her son would be fighting in Iraq, ... drew a blank. Later, on the plane, Palin said to her team: 'I wish I'd paid more attention to this stuff'."
America does not need another false "image" in the White House after the 2012 Presidential election.
America needs somebody that actually knows what he is doing ..... Somebody real ...... Like Ronald Reagan was real.
