We have had enough of the Bushes. George Bush was better than B. Hussein Obama, but he paved the way for Obama. There is Jeb Bush and his wife who smuggled items to save a few bucks, and his comments on illegals are disgusting. There is Laura Bush going on Larry King show to say how she supports “gay” marriage. Have you seen the add for “gay” marriage by young Barbara Bush who stares like a scary fanatic and reminds me of Applewhite of the Comet cult.

I don’t hate them, but they are globalists who have no place in American conservatism.

I voted for HW, and I did hold my nose and vote for GW on his second term (only because the Democrats ran Hanoi John Kerry). I am unlikely to vote for Jeb under any circumstance.

Question to you:

Are you Mexican?

I am dual...U.S. and Panamanian.

I was born here and still live in Panama. One of the most obnoxious people I have ever met are Mexicans...

P.S.

“Why don’t you examine Jeb’s record and express an opinion on that?”

I can’t add anymore to the repertoire of crap he stands for to include his family.

This country is too far gone it doesn’t matter, but we can thank the Bushes for enabling the enemies of this country. Jeb can forget it and the Bushes can shove their sanctimonious nature.

Finally - a non-vitrolic post.

No one seems to address the point of the article - how he turned Florida schools around = and he DID.

I have 6 grandkids in 3 different areas in Florida - they are getting a better education than I have seen in this country for decades BECAUSE teachers feet are held to the fire...BECAUSE they MUST teach the basics and their performance is tracked.

They complain that by having to teach the basics they don't have time to ‘teach other things’ - tough!

I am not a friend of public schools - but I am grateful that these grandchildren are in Florida schools today instead of just about any other state.

For most of you posting here, remind me of Thoreau's: Some would find fault with the morning red - if they ever got up early enough.’

“My brother lived in Texas with GWB and Florida with JB he said Jeb really had his stuff together, that during hurricanes he was first rate.”

Jeb did do some good things here in Florida as Governor, and became a popular Governor. I am glad that he has said unequivocally that he is NOT going to run for President.
I like Jeb, but he is just a too moderate for me now. Even thought I voted for him here in Florida, I want to vote for a true blue strong constitutional Conservative for President.

My dream ticket: Jim DeMint/Allen West

Bush fought very hard for that. Crist almost gave it away, but Scott is carrying it through.

My kids are grown now but if I had it to do over again I would either home-school or send them to Catholic school (depending on the school, because some are not much better morally than public schools). But if they had to go to public school, it would be here in Florida.

Even though they gripe about it all the time, the teachers and school administrators actually have to produce kids who know something. Granted, compared to the old days, they may not know that much. But something like 75% of the kids in Florida now graduate being able to read at or above grade level (and this average includes both inner-city black kids and kids from non-English speaking families), so that means that at least they have the tools to learn, which they didn't have before.

Hating Mexicans and Catholics? What are you nuts? I do not like Union, pro abortion, Kennedy, Notre Dame awards to partial birth abortion muslims fake catholics with a small c.

Yes - I am guilty as charged.

Jeb’s record? I know all about Jeb’s ****ing record because I pay for it every month in taxes to provide endless freebies to illegals. He and Crist helped bankrupt the state. Screw Poppy too. GW could have been a great one but he is another puppet for the elites.

Best governor in the state of Florida? Bob Martinez. Not perfect but he pushed for CCW.

Funny, I didn't read anyone saying they hated Mexicans.

What they were opposing is another mushy Bush in the White House.

Two were enough.

And anti-Catholicism!

Are you kidding!

I hestiate to contribute because it is very pro-Roman Catholic.

So, he turned the schools around-big deal!

Is that a reason to elect the guy President?

Mussolini got the trains to run on time as well.

It's a VERY BIG deal. It needs to be done across the county. It's the take over of our schools by the Socialists that has undermined this country and short changed our children for the past 3-4 decades.

I never said that was a reason for electing anyone president.

I was simply stating a fact - and that the overall personality of FR has degraded into knee-jerk, pile-on, screaming meemies.

A real shame, because FR deserves better - and it's freepers like most who posted on this thread that has driven far too many really great Freepers away.

Now go suck your thumb.

Education is not enough of a 'big deal' to get someone elected President, there are other issues to consider as well.

And because someone was a good governor doesn't mean he would make a good President.

Your response is typical of the single issue voter, who judges every candidate only on the basis of a single issue and reacts like a spoiled child when others do not consider their pet issue in the same way.
