I kind of see what you mean. But Coulter didn’t come to compromise – she came to evangelize. She stood up for traditional marriage at a gay event and that shows guts.

As for Breitbart? Fair point. I can’t work him out. Paying (my guess) a hack singer like Sophie Hawkins who is (a) not a Republican, (b) not a conservative and (c) a lover of omnisexuality, has freaked out a number of people.

Regardless of her motives, she leant tacit approval and legitimacy to the organization, an organization whose goals do not correspond with those of most conservatives.
