A leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt told the Arabic-language Iranian news network Al-Alam on Monday that he would like to see the Egyptian people prepare for war against Israel, according to the Hebrew-language business newspaper Calcalist.

Muhammad Ghannem reportedly told Al- Alam that the Suez Canal should be closed immediately, and that the flow of gas from Egypt to Israel should cease “in order to bring about the downfall of the Mubarak regime.” He added that “the people should be prepared for war against Israel,” saying the world should understand that “the Egyptian people are prepared for anything to get rid of this regime.”

That's a good one. I always heard it as “nuke ‘em til they glow, flip them over and use their azzes for runway lights.”

The first thing to blow will be that dam.

Interesting. That was the same conclusion my classmates at the Air War College came to when I was a student there in '72. I wonder if the Egyptian military will reach the same conclusion.

Yes, they have come to that conclusion. The building of it changed the dynamic between Egypt and Israel.

China has the same issue with the Three Gorges Dam.

Oddly enough, Iran also has a lot of big dams for power generation. Lots. Easy hits if the Israelis have to go medieval on them.

We put it there, we should close it for them. Shut down their economy, shut down their net, shine their shoes... and then re open the canal.

At the end of the day this is a declaration of war against the west.

The MB can bluster and pose all it wants but if at the end of the day the Egyptians don’t have a good meal they will go down just as hard as Mubarak did. The only thing a war with Israel would do is solve their 33% unemployment problem by wiping out 1/3 of the population.
