Chuck Schumer’s Three Branches of Government: House, Senate, and President
American Conservative Values ^ | 01/31/2011

I guess Senator Chuck Schumer didn’t take civics very serious while in school. On CNN over the weekend, Chuck Schumer boldly or stupidly declared his own version of the three branches of government to be the House, the Senate, and the President? Just imagine if Sarah Palin had said this; it would be on continuous rotation on the main stream media.

Now just in case you didn’t quite catch what Schumer said, here’s the transcript (via Hot Air):

"So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strong they feel — you know, we have three branches of government: we have a House, the Senate, we have a President, and all three of us are going to have to come together and give some. But it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling."

It’s understandable now why Democrats can pass legislation like the health care law and call it constitutional-most Democrat legislators don’t know the constitution. Would someone please give Senator Schumer a civics textbook please!

To be fair, Sarah Palin had her slip of the tongue moment when she called "North" Korea our allies when talking to Glenn Beck.

More liberal gaffes for your reading pleasure:

Chris Matthews Believes Panama Canal in Egypt

http://www.theurbangrind.net/?p=5492

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: You know, the great thing about Egypt is it’s its own country. It was always there before there was an America or Britain or anything, there has been an Egypt. It’s like China. It’s a real country. It wasn’t just carved off the map or out of the map by the Europeans, like so many African and third world countries have.

It’s got a real rooted history. It’s not just an Arab country. It was a country long before it was an Arab country — long before Islam, there was an Egypt. Will it see itself in this moment of chaos as joining a greater Islamic world or is holding to its national identity?

AMB. MARC GINSBERG, FMR. U.S. AMBASSADOR TO MOROCCO (via telephone)GINSBERG: There’s no doubt that the Egyptians view themselves as the center of culture in the Arab and the Muslim world and the center of Islamic learning. I studied there. I used to take classes at the al-Azhar University, which is considered to be the pre-eminent Islamic institution in the Muslim world, Chris.

MATTHEWS: Right.

GINSBERG: And the fact is that there’s enormous pride going back to the history of the pharaohs. The Egyptians embrace their ancient culture. But they’re very dissatisfied with their current regime.

MATTHEWS: Well, let me ask you about the prospects we’re looking at as an American. We’re looking at the map of the world right now and where Egypt sits in the world. It’s so strategically located. It has, of course, the Nile River. It has, of course, the Panama Canal.

Chris Matthews: The guy who gets tingles up his leg when hearing Obama speak and when he gets the chance to hammer Sarah Palin for making a gaffe.

Palin’s slip was a mere slip that she corrected quickly.

Chuckie is a full blown moron. I wanted to call him something else but I probably would be booted off FR.

“To be fair, Sarah Palin had her slip of the tongue moment when she called “North” Korea our allies when talking to Glenn Beck. “

...and if Sarah was on the Foreign Relations Committee, I’d be laughing at her too.

...but she is not.

This one was no slip of the tongue. Schumer is wrong on all three counts. He is an arrogant ignoramus.

Schumer had a 1600 on his SAT’s. He’s not dumb as far as that kind of thing, but he’s apparently idiotic when it comes to the Constitution. The approximately 90% left-wing mainstream media will quickly forget this, but never Palin’s slip of the tongue. I think Schumer’s was worse - he seems to have really believed that, rather than just having misspoken.

Potential smarts and being educated are very different things... If you look at today’s education system, you can understand his confusion...

Potential smarts and being educated are very different things... If you look at today’s education system, you can understand his confusion... Undeniably true. The NYC public school system used to be quite good, even around the time he would have been going through it (if he did). Since then, he and his ilk have done anything they could imagine to wreck it, purposefully or not. I had a friend who was a teacher in that system, and he was basically told his job was to babysit his students until they drop out or graduate to prison.

I just hope that involved citizens in all 57 states pay close attention to Chuckie “Mr. Civics” Schumer’s words of wisdom.

My thoughts too. A "verbal slip" is a different thing entirely. Everyone makes them. Pontificating on ignorantly about a serious subject that one should be familiar with is just plain STOOPID.
