Well.... Article 88 UCMJ prohibits “contempt toward elected officials” by commissioned officers. I first heard it about when I came back into the Army Reserve after a break in service, and was warned by my commander to restrain my anti-Clinton remarks while on duty.
Simply refusing to stand and applaud the POTUS wouldn’t fill the bill, IMO.
BTW, Article 88 was published in 1867 (not 1993 as some believe) and was intended to prevent Union generals with presidential ambitions from criticizing the incumbent President, who at the time was the unfortunate Andrew Johnson.
