The size of government has doubled since 1999...The debt has gone up ... some $5 trillion.

And whose fault is that, McBailout?

McCain said significant cuts are required - and that no area of government should be off-limits.

Then let's start with Congressional pensions, salaries, and benefits. All of them.

Otherwise you're nothing more than a stinkin' RINO traitor!

FUJM!

McCain’s first choice for budget cuts is always Defense. It is rare for him to come up with any other area where he wants cuts. He disgusts me.

How in the world does that reprehensible worm, keep getting enough votes to stay in office?

Arizonans seem pretty smart about most things, what is it about McCain which makes them act so dumb in the voting booth?

McCain continues his campaign for a Cabinet Position by praising one of Obama’s political fathers.

how much is enough? it’s very simple.

the fedgov brings in ‘only’ $2 trillion each year in taxes. the budget cannot exceed that number. in fact, like anyone can tell you... if you have a debt you want to pay it off... you have to spend less then you make in order to put the balance towards the debt (it’s the govt, you can forget savings)

how much are they spending now?

in jan 2009, the debt was $9.5 trillion. today, it is $14 trillion. that is an increase of $4.5 trillion, or roughly $2.25 trillion each year.

this would mean, both years, they have spent $4.25 trillion yet only had $2 trillion in taxes to pay for their desires.

anything less then a 50% slash in spending is a joke. like the $2.5 trillion cut proposed by the GOP... over 10 years. that’s only $250 billion per year. 10% of the amount needed to be cut.... nothing.

here’s a thought... since i can stop paying for bad service, bad food, or bad products, then why can’t i stop paying for bad government? since when do they have an unquestioned blank check attached to my wages? why aren’t they held responsible? they could get voted out? oh no, not that! then they would be forced to be on vacation... for life... with a full $180k salary. oh the horrors.

He has been proving to me that he is a dinosaur. He is clueless on the changes the Republican Party has gone through. Earth to McCain...The Tea Party happened and politics as usual is dead.

I can find it in my heart to forgive any lobotomized emotion-driven liberal for voting for Obama, but I DO NOT HAVE IT IN ME TO FORGIVE ANY CONSERVATIVE WHO VOTED FOR McCAIN IN THE GOP PRIMARY.

I can’t believe I voted for this guy.

I only did it because of Sarah, and because the alternative, was so bad.

It was really a choice between communist-lite (McCain) or full blown Maoist Revolutionaries (0bama-odinga). At least Palin would have been a wild card, had she been elected. It would have been near impossible for McCain to keep her on the plantation.

If we had a zero based budget, there’d be nothing to “cut”.

1) Start at zero
2) Prioritize “musts”, “shoulds” and “wants”
3) Budget so that outlays < receipts

How f'ing hard is that?

Unless McPain is running for president again, what he says is unimportant, compared to what he does.

Since the Democrats control the senate until 2012, when they will likely lose control of the senate, and possibly the presidency, unless the Republican leadership throws up another &^$*&$*%! as a candidate, like Bob Dole or John McPain, then all calculations should be made based on how many Tea Party senators and representatives there are.

Since McPain intends to do his level best to block the Tea Party at every turn, it is likely that he wants to pretend to be in charge of government cutting, to *prevent* as much government cutting as possible.

This is a typical Washington treachery scheme.

Remember how McPain wanted to be at the forefront of the movement to stop illegal aliens? Instead of having the wall built, we got an utterly worthless and expensive “virtual wall”. McPain *insisting* that it would even be better than the real thing.

Lies. He didn’t want illegal aliens curtailed one bit. And he didn’t want anyone else stopping them either. So he pretended to be opposed to illegal aliens, while erecting hyper-expensive obstacle after obstacle to those who wanted to keep them out.

Not to just block any progress, but to spend so much money that there wouldn’t be any left for anyone else to use to stop the illegals.

A typical Washington treachery scheme.

All told, if conservatives want somebody to help them reduce the size of government, reduce the power of government, stop illegal aliens, get rid of Obamacare, stop bailouts, etc., etc., etc., they need to rely on conservatives, not RINOs with a proven track record of treachery, like John McPain.

Conservatives should stay on the conservative side of congress, and leave the leftists and the RINOs on their side. Crossing the aisle is a losing strategy.
