This is a snippet from the introduction of the book:
My family and I have spent a lot of the last year traveling the country. Ive visited dozens of cities in more than half of the fifty state on a tour for my first book, Going Rogue, helping out candidates running for office, and promoting pro-American causes. My visit to Boston was the nest-to-last stop of the Tea Party Express in a forty-four-city, three-week tour. I was there when the tour began, in the desert sands of Searchlight, Nevada, when more than ten thousand citizens turned out to take back their government. And I was there in Boston for one last rally before the tour ended on Tax Day in (where else when the issue is taking back our government:?) Washington, D.C.
Along the way, Ive talked to literally thousands of Americans from all across the country. Ive met with folks in their living rooms, at their businesses, and at boisterous, country-music-jamming;-rallies. Whats more, hundreds of people have sent me books, magazine articles, snippets of speeches, and their own comments with different takes on America.
What Ive learned from all this traveling and meeting and talking and reading is this: the spark of patriotic indignation that inspired the Americans that fought for our freedom and independence has been ignited once again! Americans are reawakening to the ideas, the principles, the habits of heart, and disciplines of the mind that made America great. This isnt a political awakening, its an American awakening. Its coming from real people--not politicos or inside-the-Beltway types. These are the Americans who grow our food , teach our children, run our small businesses, help out those less fortunate, and fight our wars. Theyve seen what is happening in America, so theyve decided to get involved.
Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin is the former Governor of Alaska, and the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir, Going Rogue, published in November 2009. She grew up in Alaska, where she and her future husband, Todd Palin, graduated from Wasilla High School in 1982. Palin graduated from the School of Journalism at the University of Idaho. She served two terms on the Wasilla City Council, two terms as the citys mayor and manager, and was elected by her peers as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. She then chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Palin was elected Alaskas youngest, and first female governor, serving from 2006 to 2009. While governor, she was tapped as Senator John McCains running mate in 2008, becoming the first female Republican vice presidential candidate in our nations history.
The Palins reside in Wasilla with their five children and one grandson. They enjoy an extended family throughout Alaska and the Lower 48.
I thought I would share it.
I have to go on a short errand, be back soon.
Now that is a book every American kid needs to read.
You betcha, of all ages!
America by Heart
Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag
By Sarah Palin
How did we get so lucky? Just when it looked like the Communists were about to win it all -- up pops Sarah!
We went over to Boston to see Sarah when the Tea Party Express came through! Boston Common was alive with conservatives that day!
It was a fantastic tea party gathering.
I was on the back left side of the stage filming Sarah's whole speech.
It's neat she mentions it in the book.
bttt
Did you see that group of Emerson College students who were dressed as “Founding Fathers”, but were touting Obamacare? My hubby asked one of the the young men how much he paid for health insurance. He answered that he was on his father’s insurance plan. Hubby responded, “when you start paying for your OWN health insurance, I might listen to what you have to say on the matter.” ;o)
LOL good on your husband!
Yes I saw them, they caught a lot of flack.
