New Sarah Palin Book "America By Heart" Mentions Tea Party Express
Tea Party Express/HarperCollins ^ | January 22, 2011 | Sarah Palin

This is a snippet from the introduction of the book:

My family and I have spent a lot of the last year traveling the country. I’ve visited dozens of cities in more than half of the fifty state on a tour for my first book, Going Rogue, helping out candidates running for office, and promoting pro-American causes. My visit to Boston was the nest-to-last stop of the Tea Party Express in a forty-four-city, three-week tour. I was there when the tour began, in the desert sands of Searchlight, Nevada, when more than ten thousand citizens turned out to take back their government. And I was there in Boston for one last rally before the tour ended on Tax Day in (where else when the issue is “taking back our government:?) Washington, D.C.

Along the way, I’ve talked to literally thousands of Americans from all across the country. I’ve met with folks in their living rooms, at their businesses, and at boisterous, country-music-jamming;-rallies. What’s more, hundreds of people have sent me books, magazine articles, snippets of speeches, and their own comments with different takes on America.

What I’ve learned from all this traveling and meeting and talking and reading is this: the spark of patriotic indignation that inspired the Americans that fought for our freedom and independence has been ignited once again! Americans are reawakening to the ideas, the principles, the habits of heart, and disciplines of the mind that made America great. This isn’t a political awakening, it’s an American awakening. It’s coming from real people--not politicos or inside-the-Beltway types. These are the Americans who grow our food , teach our children, run our small businesses, help out those less fortunate, and fight our wars. They’ve seen what is happening in America, so they’ve decided to get involved.

Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is the former Governor of Alaska, and the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir, Going Rogue, published in November 2009. She grew up in Alaska, where she and her future husband, Todd Palin, graduated from Wasilla High School in 1982. Palin graduated from the School of Journalism at the University of Idaho. She served two terms on the Wasilla City Council, two terms as the city’s mayor and manager, and was elected by her peers as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. She then chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Palin was elected Alaska’s youngest, and first female governor, serving from 2006 to 2009. While governor, she was tapped as Senator John McCain’s running mate in 2008, becoming the first female Republican vice presidential candidate in our nation’s history.

The Palins reside in Wasilla with their five children and one grandson. They enjoy an extended family throughout Alaska and the Lower 48.

I got an email from TPX today telling us that this was in the book, if we haven't read it yet.

I thought I would share it.

I have to go on a short errand, be back soon.

Oops, wrong book above; that was the first one

America by Heart

Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin delivers an intimate and personal look at the woman behind the public servant. In her #1 New York Times bestselling memoir Going Rogue—the bestselling nonfiction book of 2009—Palin gave readers a look at her upbringing, her dynamic career, and her candidacy next to John McCain for the Vice Presidency of the United States. In this inspirational follow-up, her reflections on faith, family, and patriotism will read like a bible of American virtues for anyone hoping to understand the truths that lie at the heart of the nation.

Book Description

In the fall of 2009, with the publication of her #1 national bestselling memoir, Sarah Palin had the privilege of meeting thousands of everyday Americans on her extraordinary 35-city book tour. Inspired by these encounters, her new book, America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag, celebrates the enduring strengths and virtues that have made this country great.

Framed by her strong belief in the importance of family, faith, and patriotism, the book ranges widely over American history, culture, and current affairs, and reflects on the key values—both national and spiritual-that have been such a profound part of Governor Palin’s life and continue to inform her vision of America’s future. Written in her own refreshingly candid voice, America By Heart will include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her-from the nation’s founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies. Here, too, are portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her deep love of country, her strong rootedness in faith, and her profound love and appreciation of family. She will also draw from personal experience to amplify these timely (and timeless) themes—themes that are sure to inspire her numerous fans and readers all across the country.

I couldn't get it to post without being a hot link dern it!

I swear this good woman is the love child of Teddy Roosevelt and Annie Oakley, and a descendant of Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane, Dolley Madison, and Mollie Pitcher -- and a direct by-God descendant of Joan of Arc!!

How did we get so lucky? Just when it looked like the Communists were about to win it all -- up pops Sarah!

We went over to Boston to see Sarah when the Tea Party Express came through! Boston Common was alive with conservatives that day!

That's great, SuziQ! Glad you were there.

It was a fantastic tea party gathering.

I was on the back left side of the stage filming Sarah's whole speech.

It's neat she mentions it in the book.

Did you see that group of Emerson College students who were dressed as “Founding Fathers”, but were touting Obamacare? My hubby asked one of the the young men how much he paid for health insurance. He answered that he was on his father’s insurance plan. Hubby responded, “when you start paying for your OWN health insurance, I might listen to what you have to say on the matter.” ;o)
