Ah, the "Rosie O'Dummass" quote... Actually she said that steel couldn't melt at the temperatures generated in the World Trade Center attack.
And you know what? She was right. Steel doesn't melt at that low temperature. However, it seems that she never took a shop class in middle school, where they introduce the concept of annealing metals, which is heating them to a certain point where they become "softer" and more flexible for working. And THAT was the temperature that was generated during the attack.
And as any middle school student who went to shop class could tell you, you don't want to use metal that's being annealed as the structural component of a high rise building.
