Silicon is a metal. Silica is a ceramic . Silicon dioxide is a compound. I’m not a metalurgist but do work with aluminum alloys. They contain both silica and silicon. They’re not the same

Geez, I seem to remember a Patriot Missile that was touted as being AWESOME because it could shoot SCUD missiles down.
{And that’s not considering that the SDI, as I recall, was more interested in Lasers shooting down missiles.}

Heck, we have been shooting missiles from space for 25 years. Rachel is a dumbass who can neither teach or do. She is the dumbass wing of America.
Ah, the "Rosie O'Dummass" quote... Actually she said that steel couldn't melt at the temperatures generated in the World Trade Center attack.
And you know what? She was right. Steel doesn't melt at that low temperature. However, it seems that she never took a shop class in middle school, where they introduce the concept of annealing metals, which is heating them to a certain point where they become "softer" and more flexible for working. And THAT was the temperature that was generated during the attack.
And as any middle school student who went to shop class could tell you, you don't want to use metal that's being annealed as the structural component of a high rise building.
