MIAMI-DADE COUNTY — Two Miami-Dade police officers were shot and killed in a gunfight with suspects as they tried to serve a warrant for a violent fugitive in a Miami home Thursday morning.
It was the first time in decades two law enforcement officers had been killed in the line of duty. One of the dead officers was identified as Roger Castillo. The name of the other, a female officer, has not been released. One suspect was also killed in the gun battle. Another suspect is in custody, according Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez.

But, if they just need to serve a warrant on a violent fugitive, a couple of 'em will just amble on over and wave the paper at you.
We just went through the terrible experience of losing two officers here in Tampa a few months back. In Miami, they were servign warrants on violent offenders..the paper doesn’t say how many officers were involved in the team..
Don’t be ridiculous. These were just police officers, not members of the ruling class.

The pc’ness of female officers might have been what got them both killed.
What makes you think she was pc? My daughter is a cop, and believe me, there ain’t no pc there. They are perfectly aware that they can die at any moment and they are just as vigilant and quick to react (and fire) as any male officer.
These cops were just out serving a warrant and they were ambushed; they shot back and the murderer was killed too, but he had an accomplice. This has nothing to do with PC, and you should be ashamed of yourself for dishonoring the memory of this woman police officer and, for that matter, her male partner as well.
A pathetic and tragic loss of ‘good life’. As for the perp. . .he will not threaten again. (He should have been in jail, of course.)
