Rasmussen predicts GOP dark horse
Boston Herald ^ | 1/17/11 | Katy Jordan

Addressing business leaders in Louisiana last week, national political pollster Scott Rasmussen said that the GOP’s 2012 nominee will not go to a big-name candidate (i.e. Romney, Palin or Gingrich?), but likely someone lesser known, who has experience on the national stage, the News Star reports.

Rasmussen addressed the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry at their annual meeting last Wednesday, weighing in on the political climate and condemning Washington partisanship saying “Both parties have worked together for decades to alienate the people.”

Any dark horses out there?

I agree. It will either be DeMint, Bachmann, Cain or Pence.

The 'frontrunners' all stink

I agree. It will either be DeMint, Bachmann, Cain or Pence.

I believe I could live with any of these, although there's something about Pence that makes me a bit nervous, and I haven't been able to put my finger on it yet . . .

Sheeeyit. I'd vote for Mr. Ed before I vote for Romney or Huckabee.

Even in his present condition.

The seeds planted in the youth of the baby-boomers are coming to harvest.

A woman will succeed our black President. Why?

“Thou shalt requite (man) according to his works”.

God makes peoples dreams come true as he did for conservatives in 1980-81. The planted seed needs time to mature before the harvest. Clearly the time is about to arrive. I pray its Palin instead of broom Hillary.

Believe me,a woman President is coming because of the work of the womans rights folks in the 1960’s the followed the Civil Rights movement.

I want to see their performance on the stump for a few months before placing bets.

Except: I would never vote for the Huckster or MittBama.

*** Must be Herman Cain! ***

Wouldn’t that just frost the Democrats? It makes me laugh to think about it.

...any preferable Dark Horse would have to have at least some connections to the Tea Party, Pence is running for Governor, Demint already said no; Bachmann still looks likely to run for the Senate....that only leaves Cain, while I love Cain...he would need an astronomical increase in funds to get his message out to have a chance

How about....West, Ryan, Coburn, McCotter...

They would be a damn sight better than the current crop.

I agree the front runners have too much baggage. I’d also look hard at the bench of Republican Governors for some candidates.

Yes, but the one factor is that he only ran once for elective office and didn’t win.....Let me explain what I’m saying: In a perfect world its great that he isn’t a politician but he probably will get some “political operatives” to help him run his campaign and that spells doom for some candidates, not all but some....and the message might get diluted and they will tell him “what he needs to do and know” “go here and not there” and etc

That’s a concern

Bachmann is the best choice then. By far.
