Pawlenty says he never backed bailout in 2008 (Speaking for McQueeg, says Tpaw)

Likely 2012 Republican presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty said Sunday that when he promoted a bailout plan aimed at stabilizing the imploding mortgage market in 2008 he was speaking solely as a surrogate for GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain of Arizona and never actually supported the idea himself.

"Play the tape. It says 'he believes' and I was speaking as a spokesperson for Senator McCain," the former Minnesota governor said on "Fox News Sunday" after host Chris Wallace played video of Pawlenty endorsing what was billed as a bailout for both the mortgage industry and "Main Street."

"But I didn’t support -don’t support - bailing out places like Wall Street, General Motors and the like with respect to the federal role of government," Pawlenty said.

"When you were defending that back in 2008, you didn’t believe it?" a rather incredulous Wallace asked

Pawlenty does nothing for me as a candidate. I watched him on Fox this weekend, and he was ok, but just has really very little charisma, and seems like the first to go weak-kneed. I call it a non-starter as a campaign.

My favorite 2012 Presidential candidate is the dark horse we’ve not yet seen.

Oddly, you can’t know if he’s running to the right or the center with that... or even if he knows.

So, admit he lies if asked to. Sounds like Trent Lott when, after he was called on the carpet for wishing an old man a happy birthday, went on Tavis Smiley and said he was for affirmative action.

Time for a second party!

There are a whole group of Republican politicians who did what they thought would play well to the conservative audience during the Bush 2000s who are now caught in a bind because spending reductions where nowhere on the radar during the Bush years. I’m not voting for any governor who spent with gusto (Huckabee) or any senator or Congressman who voted “yes” on all the GOP spending binge budgets that Bush proposed in any 2012 presidential primary. I need to see results—not a lot of double talk like we have here about how he really is for lower spending despite what he said before. Way too many alleged conservatives talk a good game and have zero action to back it up.

RINOs don’t need enablers. That’s what the left is for. Juan McCon has the whole leftnut media enabling him, not to mention all of the establishment elites and illegals. Pawlenty should find a better quality of friends to associate with.

He could be lying, but it is certainly true that when people are associated with a political campaign, they sometimes do discuss positively the things the candidate is pushing, even though they don’t agree with the candidate.

Sarah Palin certainly had to push proposals she didn’t agree with, because she was speaking for McCain.

So he was for it before he was against it.

Didn't somebody else say that a while back?

Or, He was against it while he was for it, cause he had been speaking for Juan MeeKane temporarily........

Sorry, no comprende

Does her endorsement of him and appearance for him during the primary with JD mean Juan is the Tea Party favorite?

No? So they are both opportunistic liars.
