I am all for doing away with Presidential Term Limits. Provided of course that for each additional term the percentage needed for the incumbent to win gets racheted up by 5% each time and caps out at 90%.
1st term - Over 50% of the electoral college needed
2nd term - Over 55% of the electoral college needed
3rd term - Over 60% of the electoral college needed
4th term - Over 65% of the electoral college needed
5th term - Over 70% of the electoral college needed
and so on and so forth.
And make this 5% additional needed for each subsequent term apply to all offices.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think your system is feasible. Imagine a candidate trying for his 5th term. He gets 69% and fails. Do you give the presidency to the guy who got 31%?
Me I’m for a 1 six year term as President..
