What if Obama isn't an Ideologue?
The American Thinker ^ | January 17, 2011 | Bruce Walker

Many conservatives have noted Barack Obama's Marxist roots. They fear that our president may be a radical ideologue, a loather of American values, a false Christian more likely to follow the Koran than the Bible, a slavish disciple of the odious Alinsky. They may be right. But there is another possibility: Barack Obama may be nothing more than a purely political animal, committed to nothing at all except his own fame, his own pleasure, and his own power.

Grasping this possibility requires understanding that those on the "Left" are overwhelmingly nihilists hungry for power: people who no more believe in Marx than they do in Moses, the Messiah, or market economies. This was the common thread modern totalitarianism seen by great moral minds. Solzhenitsyn, faithful to truth, brilliant in his grasp of great themes, and more knowledgeable about Soviet pathology than anyone in the Kremlin, told the West that no "Communist" leaders believed in Communism at all. They used the lingo of Marx and the dreary themes of this savage bully to steal the wealth of the productive to enrich themselves.

Orwell, in his masterpiece, 1984, observed that the Inner Party was created to preserve for its members power, privileges and perks separated them from the wretched rest of mankind. Ideology, or rather flurries of violent rhetoric pretending to mean something, was tweaked from day to day by the Ministry of Truth. History was continually re-written. Insoc, or "English Socialism," was the nominal ideology of the Inner Party, but far from seeking equality and prosperity, it kept the lower orders poor and powerless.

Stalin, whose Soviet empire was the model for Orwell, purged almost everyone around him (or, as Orwell might have put it, sent them to the "Ministry of Love," which refined torment to an awful art.)

He is a politician, after all.

I don’t think it really matters much why Obama is such a destructive wanker. What matters is that he is such a destructive wanker and the damage he has done/is doing needs to be stopped and reversed.

No doubt that what Obama believes in is largely himself and his own self-indulgence.

But it’s what he HATES that scares the hell out of me.

I don’t beleive nobama is a very good politician or even a very good campaigner, he is handled by sorass’s people to promote the things that are beneficial to Lil Geogi sorass’s goals. On policy he is totally blank and this is left to sorass’s whiteyhouse czars. For the remainder of the time, nobama is left to or allowed to pursue his royalty pretence pettyness at our expense.

No, I think the evidence is irrefutable. If he were a “politician,” he would have “triangulated” sometime last year. But he went full speed ahead, destroying his party in Congress. There is also the possibility that he is an inept ideologue.

Obama is a self-promoting sociopath, and people like that are chameleons: they “become” whatever they think will get them what they want, which is acceptance and power and material advantage.

In a sense, Obama’s ideology is himself, because he genuinely perceives himself as a superior being, and is actually angry that there are many of us who refuse to acknowledge his superiority. I think that flashes through on many unguarded occasions.

However, I think it’s undeniable that he has a meta-ideology, which is his own personal combination of Marxism and Islam, blended on the basis of his hatred of the West and Western culture, which he feels has deprived him of the recognition and acceptance as the messiah that he thinks himself.

I don’t see any indication at all that he has “moderated” in any way; he has simply stopped trying to achieve his leftwing and anti-Western goals through the legislature, and therefore his activities are no longer as public. He really had no other choice than to accept things like the extension of some of the Bush tax rates, particularly since people like Clinton realized that Obama’s first two years had made him wildly unpopular and risked destroying the Democratic party.

And when I say “he,” in this case I am also referring to the circle of hardline leftists, black power activists and Islamists around him. Obama has patched together his own America-hating ideology, but he’s not a smart or knowledgeable person; he realizes that he is just a figurehead, and in a sense is the one who must hide the real agenda by calling attention to himself.

Obama and the people behind him realize that their approach has been too public and too conflictive and that this is what led to their electoral defeats. So now Obama will go back to making the oceans drop and raising the dead, he will cultivate deniability for anything unpopular, and he and his politburo will continue to carry out their hard left agenda but through administrative means rather than legislating. And they will be plotting day and night on how they are going to destroy us.

Oh - and as for Marxism or Socialism, it always benefits the people at the top lavishly, so he’ll get what he wants that way, too. More trips to places he had never been because of his provincial leftist ignorance, more shopping outside of GUM for Michelle, more dachas...

The exhaustive campaigning for the Presidency and becoming President reveals the heart and soul of America.

All the rubber chicken dinners, hearing stories of success and engaging in local customs sports, hobbies and cuisine as well as literally talking to thousands of people has to make an impression on a man.

Whatever Obama’s earlier impressions of his fellow Americans was how could he after experiencing all that not fall in love with this country?

America has been very good to him personally, how could he not be grateful?

He is clearly not a Muslim but how could a man with true belief in Jesus and his teachings sit still in Rev. Wright’s Church?

He clearly has a bias against the British.

He is no workoholic and the fact that he rarely speaks extemporaneously suggests he is not passionate about his political beliefs or much else. He let the Congress do all the heavy lifting on Obamacare. He has few personal achievements. He is a slacker.

By all accounts he is a good father and husband which is an example the black community needs. He enjoys travel, golf and his family.

I think he is a slacker without strong religious or political beliefs who is going to enjoy the ride until it ends.

There’s a lot of truth in this assertion. I find the powers that be - the Soroses and the “intellectuals” - to be very cynical. They don’t really believe in anything. They’re like the smoking, drinking swearing reporters (journalists) for sale to the highest bidder.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;” (2Tim.3:2)

That’s them.

How many ideologues are smart? Communist ideologues were all proven to be brainwashed dupes. Obama is no different.

Hitler was a politician in his early career in order to gain power and then turned into an idealogue that destroyed his party and nation in the pursuit of ever more power. Quite simply, power drove him mad.

The Obama Administration has given the government of the United States over to the RADICAL LEFT. The damage they are doing to this once great country may be irreversible. Who cares whether Obama is a true believer or not? The results are the same in either case. If Obama gets reelected, we are toast.

Every politician has to fight two urges: the urge to retain their ideological purity and the urge to give up power. Most pols cannot help themselves, they love power for its own sake, and willingly make compromises with their ideals to stay in power. Obama is no different. Without a doubt, he loves the power and perks of the presidency. However, considering Obama’s actions since he assumed the presidency leaves no doubt that he is the most ideologically driven president ever.
