God is the Fourth dimensional observer or if you believe in more dimensions than the usual three, the X dimensional observer to indicate that the transcendent creator is not contained by what he caused.
I admit that I tend to try to interpret reality within a worldview based on a literal understanding of the Bible. This is actually logical if one starts with a personal knowledge of God as a given. Everything HAS to conform to what you know.
I tend to be a young Earth creationist. Until recently I thought that the Cosmos had to be young also, but a photograph of galaxies in collision that appeared to be shredding each other for over 100k years forced me to change my mind. If the creation account was endorsed by Jesus then it must be true also. My current best “fit” theory has God using relativistic effects to allow vast ages for the Cosmos that was created on day 4 of the creation week 7000 years ago.
So far the God that I know personally seems to want me to accept the Bible literally.
If we posit that GOD used the quantum flux to spawn the Universe and perhaps a infinite number of parallel universes then well and good. I have a hard time with the idea since that doesn’t seem to agree with what he had Moses write down for us.
It’s not a belief when you know. In the Universe of those who know Him he is more certain a constant than the speed of light. While I might be wrong in my interpretation of the Bible I can’t be wrong about Him.
He alone is transcendent enough to be the “cause” of boundless time and space if indeed they are boundless.
Even though the concepts of “outside” and “before” are paradoxical when talking about the spacetime continuum that is still the best way to visualize the transcendent Creator of the Universe. He caused it and isn’t contained by it.
Stephen Hawking’s theory is an attempt to deny the existence of the personally knowable God. I can be confident that he is wrong in his reasoning on that score.
