A proposal by Senator Mark Udall, D-Colo., for bipartisan seating during the annual State of Union address is picking up support. The plan, that would sit Republicans, Democrats, and Independents should-to-shoulder during the President's address, is getting the thumbs up from both sides of the aisle and even right down the middle.

Boehner gets to hold Pelosi’s hand and she can comfort him when he breaks down and starts crying.

Pelosi won't be up there to hold it...that would be Joe BiteMe. Boehner is taking Cruella deNancy's place.

Any Republican that sits with a Dem should be thrown out on the street.

Republicans should stay on their side of the aisle and stand with their backs to Zero. Or not attend at all.

Yours is the best idea yet of Republicans showing up and turning their backs on Obama.

They are trying to silence the majority. Republicans need to tell them that it will not change. The further destruction of the Nations founding will not stand, regardless of the Democrats agenda.

I hope this McCarthy loser is getting lots of mail from back home telling him to get his mind right.

McCcain, as always, is McCain. You’d think his instincts would be improved after the way the left treated him during his prez campaign. But no, he still lives in a dream world where the Dems are some kind of honorable opposition.

They really should be sitting with the Dims anyway, since that's what they actually are. If the rest of the Republicans reject this plan, it will leave those 5 looking like the fools that they are. I would approve that plan.

Now we won't be able to tell which side is for what. People, there's a reason MacArthur demanded that the written Japanese language be simplified and that their laws be published for the citizens to read. The public needs to understand what their government is doing. Conservatives could undermine the idea by simply wearing an identifying color on their clothing. God, if I had to sit in between two democrats during a state of the union there would be bloo - whoops can't say that! - bad things would happen! I think there is a safety issue here as well :) Of all the ridiculous nonsense during a time of crisis, Mark Udall has to waste our time getting us to hold hands. KINDERGARTEN! The state of the union only happens once a year. Absurd hogswallow! Write a bill that makes Barack Obama personally libel for his share of the financial crisis he's brought on us.

The Rinocrat Oligarchy is about to make it formal. Just as the Palin/Flyover Country opposition is coming into its own.

Might as well...These gutless wimps that we elected in November as Republicans are not much better than the marxist scum on the other side...The “master” (marxist) and
“slave” (GOP) syndrome continues unabated...

The next thing you know the Repubs will be “power sharing” like they did the last time they had a majority. Don’t do it. Let the losers sit by them selves.

IMO they’ll be bending to the will of the Rats if they do this.

Absolutely. They actually should stick with the traditional seating arrangement and be allowed as a group to show respect for the office and subtly show disapproval if so desired.

Besides, the Republicans probably wouldn't want to sit among the RATs because they smell bad.

I would like to see the Republicans take a stand. All they have to say is no thanks, we want the people who elected us to see us seated together.

Why the hell is that so hard?

The dems want people not to notice that they are fewer. They also wish to create a rift between the voters and the republicans.

They are doing a fine job of it too. I don’t expect there is enough onions from the whole lot of them to stand up to this.

See how weak they are? Imagine how bad it will be on serious issues.

If republicans go along with this it is seriously time for a third party.
