GOP Strategist: Palin Prolonged the Polarization and Prolonged the Country's Misery

Andrea Michell is discussing Sarah Palin (what a surprise) with Democrat David Bonier and Republican strategist Vin Weber, here's the video of Weber.

-------

MITCHELL: "She had the choice of when to speak and the tone. and one has to wonder why doesn't she have a wider circling of advisers. i don't know any political strategist of a national campaign, republican or democrat who thinks that was a smart thing to do.

VIN WEBER: "Well, we really don't know who advises her. She's quite isolated from what you might think of as the Republican establishment. No one is quite sure who's advising her. I think she was way off key on what she said and the president was right on key. The country after a catastrophe like this wants a moment when you come together and heal a little bit, and they had been denied that because of all the debate about the polarizatio and the president rescued the moment, if you will, and brought the country together and for governor Palin to have responded the way she did at the time was kind of prolonging the polarization and prolonging the country's sort of misery as they waited for a moment of unity.

My thoughts exactly. Here we are in a battle with a communist in Chief, a complicit media, and now bullets zing across our heads from our own side? WTF?

How anyone could have been blamed for the jerk shooter in AZ (besides the goofy sheriff) is beyond me. But they somehow managed to blamed Sarah (and others). What does this tell us?

It tells us that as a nation, we're in trouble, possibly deep trouble. If this happened to you or I, we'd be hopping mad and damn right.

Try this on for size: "First, they came for Sarah, but I wasn't a mother from Alaska, so I didn't say sh*t because I just want to get along". See where this goes?

The GOP heirarchy have proven to be manipulating idiots. I have trouble thinking these people are really as stupid as they seem.

I have to think awhile on what it is I am missing. I may know, but I am not ready to say it.

So, the GOP wants to keep digging their own political grave.

So be it!

John Vincent Weber (born July 24, 1952 in Slayton, Minnesota) is a former Republican Congressman from Minnesota. Weber attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities from 1970 to 1974. He had been the co-publisher of Murray County newspaper and the president of Weber Publishing Company. He was press secretary to Representative Tom Hagedorn from 1974 to 1975, a senior aide to Senator Rudy Boschwitz from 1977 to 1980. Weber had also been a delegate to the Minnesota State Republican conventions in 1972 and 1978. In 1980, at the age of 28 he was elected to the Sixth Congressional District, defeating Archie Baumann by 53 to 47 percent. Baumann had been an aide to former congressman Richard Nolan. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1992, and is now a resident of Walker, Minnesota.

Weber retired from congress in 1992, two years before the “Gingrich revolution”, after being caught up in the House banking scandal which revealed the bank had repeatedly paid overdrafts for 125 checks on his account.[1] However, as secretary of the House Republican caucus and key adviser to Gingrich, he was considered one of the architects of the Republican’s success in 1994. He briefly was a commentator on National Public Radio the following year about developments in Congress after the Republicans took control of the House, providing commentary on the “revolution” he had helped create. Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting reported that Weber frequently offered his opinions on NPR about health care issues, but never revealed that he was a paid lobbyist for several health insurance giants.

He is a member of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and was one of the signers of the PNAC Letter sent to US President Bill Clinton dated January 26, 1998, advocating “the removal of Saddam Hussein’s regime from power” along with Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and 29 other notable Republicans.[2]

Currently, Weber is managing partner of the Washington, D.C. branch of lobbying firm Clark & Weinstock. In 2006, Weber’s firm received $360,297 from home mortgage giant Freddie Mac to lobby on their behalf.[1]

Weber also serves as chairman of the National Endowment for Democracy, a private, nonprofit organization designed to strengthen democratic institutions around the world through nongovernmental efforts. He is a senior fellow at the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota, where is co-director of the Policy Forum. He also serves on the Advisory Board [2] of the Institute for Law and Politics at the University of Minnesota Law School. Weber is a board member of several private sector and nonprofit organizations, including ITT Educational Services, Department 56, and the Aspen Institute. He also serves on the Board of The Council on Foreign Relations and co-chaired the Independent Task Force on U.S. Policy toward Reform in the Arab World with former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. In addition, Weber is a member of the U.S. Secretary of Energy’s Advisory Board.

Weber served as the Bush-Cheney ‘04 Plains States Regional Chairman. On January 16, 2007, Weber became Policy Chairman for Romney for President Exploratory Committee.[3]

She's quite isolated from what you might think of as the Republican establishment.

One of many positives for Palin.

The republican establishment is quite isolated from rank and file Americans. Sarah said exactly what needed to be said, and at precisely the correct time.

I'm about done with the GOP.

Hey Rat and RINO pundits, Listen Up!

Sarah Palin represents us, the American People. She is one of us.

Sarah and many in the Tea Party movement have awakened the sleeping giant that is the silent majority.

There are at least 180 million Americans waiting for Sarah to announce. When she does, there will be an outpouring of support and donations that will be unprecedented in American politics

Millions will work tirelessly to remove the socialist in the White House. We know our future, that of our grandchildren and the millions yet unborn depend on it. It is the Fight of our Lives!

She will Run, and she will Win Big!

We have Just Begun to Fight!

This is the kind of mentality we should reject in politicians: the gasps of wimpy weasels, castrated little imps, and pretentious liberals’ asskissers.
