Well, I think that is really odd. She is 36 yrs old drinking with teenagers. I don’t understand this story.
It’s not odd at all when you take it in consideration that she was a poet and an activist. Poets and activist often seek to mingle with all the different segments of society for their own poetic interests or to try to get in the heads of of their new acquaintances. She found the wrong ones.
The poet part of her should have sat back and observed but I believe the activist part of her could not keep her mouth shut with this young group of misguided thugs and she paid the price. I’m sure her intentions were good.
