Three San Diego-area U.S. congressmen have re-entered the Mount Soledad cross fray with a bill that would allow religious symbols to be a part of military monuments.

On Wednesday Rep. Duncan Hunter of Alpine introduced the War Memorial Protection Act in response to the federal Ninth Circuit Court’s Jan. 4 ruling, declaring the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial unconstitutional. Joining Hunter as co-sponsors are Congressmen Brian Bilbray of Solana Beach and Darrell Issa of Vista.

A cross was first erected atop Mt. Soledad in 1913. It wasn’t until the cross was rebuilt after a 1952 storm that it became a war memorial. Since 1989, the dispute over the constitutionality of the cross has whipsawed through numerous courts, public votes and land transfers.

Looks like Duncan D. will be re-fighting the same battle as the old man had a few years back. These leftist judges are trying intent on destroying our nation.

It'd be better to simply target the offending jurists with impeachment hearings. The House has EXCLUSIVE jurisdiction on impeachment and I'm sure the 9th Circus pukes have better things to do than to travel to DC in the winter ~ as well as next winter ~ and the one after that.

Just line 'em up, keep 'em in a cheap motel in NE, and have them appear to witness in a never ending line of pending impeachment cases.

If conducted correctly it would be quite instructive to the judges.

The objective here is to ascertain that the judges continue to behave, professionally and otherwise, consistent with the "good behavior" standard in the Constitution.

No "law" need be cited for these strictly Constitutionally ordained processes and standards.

...would allow religious symbols to be a part of military monuments.

Have any of the 9th circus judges ever been to a military cemetery? Each marker has a symbol of belief. Currently the VA allows for 48 different symbols, the most common, by far, being the cross in some form.

I agree- I will support this bill —and encourage those who claim to represent Colorado to do the same. But am firmly convinced the court was smoking something we aint allowed without a Medical Marijuana Permit when they decided to follow the Transmission Belts to Soviet Communist Dictatorship and the freakin Ku Klux Klan to change the meaning of the First Amendment.I’d take a Judge like Captain America anyday over most of the others.
