Even gun metaphors need a rest now and again.
In the wake of the Tucson, Ariz., shooting at an event hosted by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh has been emphatic in his assertion that he and other right-wing political figures in no way contributed to the mindset of suspected gunman Jared Loughner. But an unfortunate billboard advertising Limbaugh's show has given his critics some ammunition of their own.
photograph was circulated early this morning of the Tucson billboard, which was located along Interstate 10, just five miles from the Safeway store where a gunman killed six people and injured 13 others, including Giffords. The text of the ad read, "Rush Limbaugh Straight Shooter," and was accompanied by pictures of stray bullet holes.

Why stop there Libiots.. How about getting rid of all Hollywood movies and MTV music video’s depicting guns, shootings or bullet holes.
Rap music too! When is it going to stop.
Don’t give them any ideas - the westerns will all be five minutes long.
And Target closed its doors a mile from the billboard and 4 miles from the shooting location????? Darn. That was one of my favorite Target stores.
So, it was taken down 2 days before the shooting?
But the headline makes it sound as though it was removed BECAUSE of the shooting.
Nah, not misleading at all
Interesting that that billboard has had 20,042 hits. How do they determine that?
Another point - there was some news the other day about Politico's passing bills or laws that prohibited certain types of speach against politicians. I want to know when the "Politicians" are going to pass laws prohibiting them from "hate speech" - or even "outragous speech"?
Am I reading this right? Our freedom of speech is gone to this level where conservatives are deprived of speech that liberals are not?
Does this mean conservatives can’t take “pot shots” at liberals, now????
The term “pot shot” probably sends libs into open loops.
sorry, I misread
Why do you say before? Am I missing something, the AOL article says:
“When contacted by Surge Desk, the man who originally posted the photo to Reddit said that the billboard was taken down on Monday, two days after the shooting rampage.”
If the liberals really want to ratchet up the intensity of the rhetoric, let them limit or repeal the first two amendments of the Bill of Rights.
Metaphors are now illegal. The messiah is considering introducing legislation to make it a felony.
Safeway is obviously safe, it’s right in the name.
Nobody in the media objects to the level of violence on TV or the movies.
