Certainly the net has an underlying ethos, set, tendency, exectation that fosters prickly hostility toward everyone not one’s twin or clone.

You know, if someone is stalking you and harassing you like that, you could alert the mods to it. I'd think that they'd be interested in knowing about it. It's generally discouraged.
