Drudge only posts a clickable link, whereas CoastToCoastAM posts the clickable title with a very short excerpt (or description) of the article.
Having the article posted at Fr allows people to read it for themselves without them having to go to other sites to read it.
If you read the posting rules here, it's acceptable to post up to a 300 word excerpt, but not the entire text of an article. That's reasonable, as it allows readers to get an idea of what the full article is about, but also gives readers some encouragement to click on the link and read the whole thing.
Given that no one's charging FR to post excerpts of published works, it's only fair that the site is set up to encourage readers to go to the original source to read. Those additional eyeballs are quite valuable to the sites that host the original articles, and I'm happy to give them mine, when I run across an excellent piece.
And what of the articles that go missing after various weeks or months?
I have no problem going to the originating source to finish reading an article, but, I don’t want to ALWAYS have to do so.
