Well, I guess it comes down to personal preferences. Myself, I'd rather take a few minutes ordering 1,000 professionally printed cards online, and wait a couple weeks for delivery.
Having been in business for many years, I'm accustomed to having a stack of professionally made business cards on hand at all times. For me, at least, it's just far easier to have a box full, rather than laboriously print them up myself.
There’s no reason to not be able to do both.
Then whatever works best for individuals is what they can choose.
