Good! There's not enough of us doing that. I have a son who doesn't realize his importance in his childrens lives. We came to verbal blows yesterday. He isn't speaking to me today. He'll get over it.

failing to understand that

THEMSELVES—TIME, AFFECTION, LISTENING

are more valuable than a LOT of other things, to the child . . . and to enabling the child to succeed, feel worthwhile and stay out of prison.

I’ve been known to tell some clueless parents that they were doing an excellent job of preparing their kids for prison.
