In this case he has to first see that the change is needed.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
If you're asking about ownership, no.
If you're asking if I laid it, NO!
I gave up drinking so I had the money to support FRee Republic, almost...
I’ve never seen an aspiring conservative with an open mind get the zot on FR. Not that I’ve been personally present for each and every sot for the last 8 years.
If anything, I’ve seen zotworthy people last for a long, long time before they finally got the boot up the *** they richly deserved.
:-)
I would guess that would be an impossible task, since so much depends on the individual church, individual church leaders, congregation, location within the city, and country. Who could provide the data on a national level?
There are true generalizations, but when posted, people’s personal specifics would cause them to complain.
I would keep it a private reply to Quix.
“just sayin’” :) ...where’s an emotive when you need one.
Thank you Jim and God bless!
no doubt..there is no competitor to here
Almost? If you actually took the 12 steps, you could probably support FR, several third world countries and me!
I love no edit button. I’m a member (not as busy of course as I am here) on a few other forums and the edit button does allow to correct mistakes, but people can hide behind it too easily.
Here - what’s said is said, and can’t be unsaid; unless the Mods remove it of their own accord, or sometimes will if you ask pretty please...
Nope. And FR is the only place that go after jerks in both parties.
I would guess that would be an impossible task, since so much depends on the individual church, individual church leaders, congregation, location within the city, and country.

I don’t think it needs to be on a national level, just my experiences from congregation to congregation. Subjective, sure but possibly insightful.
And you are right about congregational and location differences, but that also provides insight.
The churches MrR and I attended in California are vastly different than the churches here in the High Plains.
And I would welcome other peoples opinions on their congregation.
I have attended many churches in many different states and there is SOME continuity in denoms and in states. I would welcome the dialogue.
"Now there are ways to make a system more bullet proof and to build-in back ups and redundancy, etc, so there is almost zero downtime for users, but these are usually reserved for critical operations. And thats because they cost money. Lots of it."
Hardware is cheap. You are running on MySQL. Perhaps Open Source OSes too. With all that and virtualization, it's no longer really expensive to build redundancy. Any time you decide to ask for some more technical help just let me know. I'm here. You know where I am.
BTW, I don't know about those people complaining about the software. I don't care what it's written in. FR's forum has always been superior IMHO. I prefer it to any other forum software I've seen. Always have. It's simple and doesn't put a lot of garbage in my way.
My friend, FR is far too valuable a resource to adopt such a fatalistic attitude about the existing business model. If it no longer works, then it needs to be upgraded to one that does.
I can tell you have never lived on principle. It is a costly thing.
The liberals constantly think we didn’t hear their message and keep changing their presentation so that we would like it. It is their message we reject, not their methodology.
You also seem to think if we get the right method they will like our message. Not going to happen. The conservative message stands on its own.
VERY WELL PUT.
I love some inclusive things.
Nevertheless . . .
Thanks.
“I dont think it needs to be on a national level, just my experiences from congregation to congregation. Subjective, sure but possibly insightful.”
I agree, and sent you a private reply saying so.
Darn these “no edit button” people! :)
Most of the complaints about the software arise from features that used to be there but have disappeared, or never worked well in the first place such as the search mechanism. Upgrades were always promised but never delivered.
These things are not major problems but they do continue to hang on unfinished and add to the uncertainty of just how healthy the system really is, looking at it from the outside like we users do.
Well!
Hey Sidebar! Look the other way while I reach over here for the ban button. ;)
