This shows that people who have thought about violence and how to react to it are more likely to be prepared to deal with it.

“He did not draw his gun”

Kept his cool and analyzed the situation. A conservative no doubt. Superior intellect.

He gives some interesting information that I had not heard before. Apparently the shooter had two additional magazines in his pockets and a knife. He was trying to reload but was stopped by a woman who was one of those subduing him.

Absolutely, and why more people should be better prepared, always.

I have been gone all weekend and have not heard any "details" of what exactly happened, but was surprised to hear he was not "ventilated" on sight, this being Arizona.

Sad, very sad day.

It is Arizona, but at a Democratic event, where you are least likely to find someone carrying.

Makes one wonder what would have happened if the 3 brave souls would have done what law enforcement recommends...

"Just call 911... we'll handle it."

How many more could he have killed in the 3 - 5 minutes it took them to arrive??

And even if you are carrying. A shooter in a crowd?

Nightmare scenario. Way too many things to go wrong.

What do you want to bet that they start looking at magazine capacities again?
