I totally agree! Everyone ought to get busy and create screenshots of all this whacko’s rantings. Before a day has passed, they will all be gone from the internet and he will be branded a “rabid element of the Teaparty” which he clearly is not. I immediatley heard calls for “a change in the tone of Washington. Does this mean we should just give up and become Socialists and Communists to keep the peace? The business of the country must go on! They won’t let terrorists killing hundreds of us or trying to blow all of us up stop Congress, but the actions of one nut job can?
I would remind the news media that other people were killed and injured who weren’t promininent figures in politics or government. Let’s have enough respect for them and their families not to act as if the death or injury of a politician is more worthy of grief and sense of loss than an ordinary citizen.
I completely agree with you. The government must continue to function and no one person is that important. And I would say that even if it were someone on the same side as me.
This canonization is becoming appalling, and quite convenient at a turning point vote for the country. (And I am here in Tucson, by the way, and have been hearing quite the revisionist history today.)

It appears to me from what’s been reported so far the shooter was a an avowed leftist. If this is true, then the call for lowering the tone would seem to apply only to the left. In any case. I have not heard one threat of violence from a conservative, Tea Party or Tea Party member. All the demrat alleged threats were ultimately proven to be false.
Therefore, if there’s any toning down to be done the demrats need to do it.
