Sorry — I think everyone’s nerves are a little raw right now. Implying that republicans would have been carrying and able to protect themselves; seems a bit like an indictment of Dems (stereotypically non-carrying).

http://www.aolnews.com/story/details-of-suspect-in-ariz-rampage/1500167/

“.....

Authorities said the accused gunman targeted the three-term congresswoman, but an exact motivation was not immediately known. Many questioned whether the nation’s polarized political climate had played a role, even as Loughner’s political views remained unclear late Saturday.”

That means, they haven’t found a way to make him out as a right wing kook...yet.

“Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik described the gunman as mentally unstable and said he possibly acted with an accomplice.”

Were they both mentally unstable, or politically unclear?

“Federal law enforcement officials poured over versions of a MySpace page that belonged to Loughner and over a YouTube video published weeks ago under an account “Classitup10” and linked to him. The MySpace page, which was removed within minutes of the gunman being identified by officials, included a mysterious “Goodbye friends” message published hours before the shooting and exhorted his friends to “Please don’t be mad at me.””

They got this from Freep!

“.....”

I'm not implying, I am stating what I consider to be a fact. And that is borne out by any number of Statistics I have seen here and elsewhere.

OTOH, they are they [this judge] are the type that communist Manifesto readers want to get rid of.

Doubt that the gunman knew who the judge was. Most likely the judge just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Thanks justiceseeker93.
BTW, notice how the shooting up of Republican Congressman Eric Cantor's office last year was conveniently omitted from the Houston Chronicle story[?]
Oh, that's just an *honest mistake*.
Giffords herself has drawn the ire of the right, especially for her support of the health care bill from politicians like Sarah Palin
Lautenberg got back into office through no blameworthy politics whatsoever.

He posted his own video of himself burning the American flag.

Conservatives — in particular Tea Partiers — do not burn the American flag.

Americans don’t burn the American flag.

Only our enemies do that.

I’m surprised the RATs haven’t blamed Bush for the Arizona shooting yet. Seems to be their default answer to everything bad that happens.

This is one of the strangest attempted political assassinations I’ve read about. This perp certainly wasn’t a TEA Party member. It appears he’s more a nutcase than a terrorist.

Should Judges be lobbying Congresspeople? Even about innocuous matters like new courthouses? Seems kinda improper to me.

I don’t mind Judges going out and talking to their constituents. I think they should. But they shouldn’t appear with members of Congress.
