Reading Constitution Aloud Called 'Fetish'
Fox ^ | 1-5-11 | Joe Kovacs

In a nation founded upon the U.S. Constitution, one might think that reading the founding document out loud on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives might not be controversial, but some on the left suggest those promoting its voicing have a "fetish." Among them is Dahlia Lithwick of Slate.com, who penned a column titled, "Read It and Weep: How the tea party's fetish for the Constitution as written may get it in trouble."

It’s interesting how the progressives try to debase things with sexual slurs. They did the same thing with teabaggers. Says a lot about them.

What they can’t comprehend is that the concept of Liberty still means something to a majority of us. If they keep pushing their statist agenda, they might just discover how much it is cherished.

They still don’t get it... I am truly amazed that they are so self-deluded..I guess maybe a election massacre in Nov 2012 might open their eyes?

‘Big Labor got some big love from President Obama and congressional Democrats yesterday after they agreed to exempt union workers from the whopping “Cadillac tax” on high-cost health-care plans until 2018.

The sweetheart deal, hammered out behind closed doors, will save union employees at least $60 billion over the years involved, while others won’t be as lucky — they’ll have to cough up almost $90 billion.”

THIS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

I thought Pelosi was going to burst into flames/choke/melt when she read her little bit.

She looked like she had a nice big plate of humble pie and lemons for breakfast.

Priceless...

Either very few Dims can read, or the words are simply sticking in their throats.

They know they have absolutely zero power for their agenda if the Constitution is adhered to.

It seems like reading the Constitution aloud to some Dims is like showing a cross to Dracula.

Are they required to sit there the whole time?

Has anyone burst into flames yet?

Sadly, no.

In the United States, the oath of office for the President of the United States is specified in the U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 1):

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Members of Congress, it specifies they "shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation to support this constitution." At the start of each new U.S. Congress, in January of every odd-numbered year, those newly elected or re-elected Congressmen - the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate - must recite an oath:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.[41]

This oath is also taken by the Vice President, members of the Cabinet, and all other civil and military officers and federal employees other than the President. While the oath-taking dates back to the First Congress in 1789, the current oath is a product of the 1860s, drafted by Civil War-era members of Congress intent on ensnaring traitors.

The Tea Party is only saying : "You took the oath! Now uphold the oath you promised: "the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"

They should have the Dims read aloud the IRS code they’re so fond of expanding.
By the time they’re done reading it would be Nov. 2012.

Its hilarious that all the libs are repeating the same “fetish” line. Does anyone take them seriously when we all know the democrats are the defenders and promoters of fetishes. Lame, democrats just look like hysterical screaming banshies.
