Bomb Threat Temporarily Shuts Down Tyson's Shelbyville Plant

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - A bomb threat temporarily shut down the Tyson Chicken Plant in Shelbyville on Monday afternoon, in what is now the company's second security scare at that location in just two weeks.

"We got a call from the Tyson plant at about 1:27 p.m. Monday," said Shelbyville Police Chief Austin Swing. "They then organized a search team, and the search team went through the plant after it was evacuated."

*snip*

Locals said the threat is unsettling, especially since it comes on the heels of another security scare at the plant. It was just two weeks ago when Tyson contacted federal authorities over some graffiti found in one of the plant's bathrooms.

Here's a little background on the previous threat mentioned in tonight's article. We still haven't gotten much info on that one, though it isn't for lack of trying to get it.

The first we heard about any problems was last week with 'All Americans Must Die' Written On Plant Wall (Tyson in Shelbyville, TN) .

Then there was a follow-up with Tyson denies death threat (update on Shelbyville, TN) .

Whether these are connected remains to be seen. And they didn't say if the person who called in this bomb threat had an accent so I have no clue if it was a Somali or not. All we can do is wait and see what can be learned about it. Tyson's been staying tight-lipped lately.

I hate Tyson. I wish we could get Perdue out here.

I hope your son doesn’t work anywhere that he has to deal with the Somalis. They’re some mighty unpleasant people.

They’d best not cause harm to anyone. If they do, rednecks all around will make them wish they were back in Somalia. They’ve done nothing to get in good favor with local folks.

From what I understand, Perdue is no better. If it isn’t muzzies they hire, they most likely have illegals.
We don’t eat poultry so neither gets our $$.

I gotta have my drumsticks and wings.

BTW, as I live in Columbus, home of 50,000 Somalis, I'll take Mexicans any day.

Somalis are the scummiest, stinkiest, nastiest and most hateful people on the planet.

Oh lucky you! You’re up there by that compound, are you?

Most of the Shelbyville Somalis came to TN from OH. They had OH drivers licenses. We assume they came through the compound and that’s why I’ve always been uneasy about their presence.

I don’t trust them any more thay they love Americans.

When I hear or read “Tyson” I automatically think of Clinton. The two go hand in hand.

Somebody on that shift wanted off of work so they more than likely called in the false threat.

That’s quite possible. It wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened at a business or factory.
And with the recent broughaha at that plant, they figured it would automatically be blamed on a Somali.

It’ll be interesting to see who it does turn out to be, if they ever find out. Keeping my eyes peeled.

It does make one wonder about the “Latest Terror Threat in US Aimed to Poison Food”.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/12/20/eveningnews/main7169266.shtml

They told us it was buffets and such but since they don’t seem to want to reveal what was on that wall...the timing and all does leave one to question—buffets or further up the food line?

The fact Tyson won't say what was written is what has a lot of folks upset. If it was something innocuous, one would think they tell us. That they're keeping mum raises a lot of suspicions.

The Feds aren't called in over simple graffitti (and they were called in) and they aren't answering questions about it either.

What (70’s?) movie had the fried chicken plant exploding and chicken raining from the sky?

Chicken plants are mostly illegals now days. If someone wrote a threat on the bathroom wall, it would take 4 hours for someone that actually reads English to notice it.

I intend to skip any product that has the Tyson label— until Tyson is ready to be honest.

I have no confidence in Tyson or gov’t.

Gov’t will demand labels on meat, break our knuckles and rule the schools over nutrition, salt—you name it— but tell us the truth about a terrorist threat...not so much.

What about this food safety law...just what in the sam-hill is going on these days—besides the erosion of freedom and deceit?!

Enough.
